Job Description

The Manager, Vendor Management is responsible for leading the Vendor Management Office (VMO) and overseeing the full lifecycle of strategic vendor relationships across the enterprise. This role partners closely with IT, Finance, Legal, Procurement, and business stakeholders to optimize vendor performance, negotiate favorable contract terms, mitigate risk, and maximize the value of supplier relationships.

The Manager leads sourcing, procurement, contract management, vendor onboarding and offboarding, performance management, renewals, and vendor governance while ensuring compliance with company policies and industry best practices. This individual also manages a team of vendor management professionals, drives process improvements, and provides strategic guidance that supports Rooms To Go's business objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the enterprise Vendor Management Office (VMO), overseeing the complete vendor lifecycle including sourcing, onboarding, contract management, performance management, renewals, and offboarding.
  • Lead negotiations for vendor contracts, statements of work, software licensing, pricing, renewals, and commercial agreements within established approval authority.
  • Partner with Legal to review, negotiate, and finalize vendor agreements while ensuring compliance with company standards and risk management requirements.
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with technology vendors, suppliers, and business partners to improve service quality, cost efficiency, and business outcomes.
  • Monitor vendor performance, service levels, compliance, and contractual obligations while driving corrective actions when necessary.
  • Collaborate with IT, Product Owners, Finance, Accounting, Operations, and business leaders to support sourcing, procurement, and vendor governance activities.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings, vendor consolidation, process improvements, and risk reduction while developing business cases and recommendations for leadership.
  • Support procurement activities by reviewing quotations, purchase requests, licensing agreements, statements of work, and purchase orders.
  • Partner with IT Asset Management to forecast technology needs, monitor inventory trends, and proactively engage vendors to minimize operational risk.
  • Analyze vendor spend, contract utilization, renewals, and supplier performance to provide meaningful reporting and executive-level recommendations.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for vendor performance issues, contract disputes, invoice discrepancies, and service delivery concerns.
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve vendor management policies, procedures, documentation, and governance standards.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of vendor management and procurement professionals by providing coaching, workload prioritization, and professional development.
  • Ensure vendor documentation, contracts, compliance records, and procurement files remain accurate, current, and audit-ready.
  • Stay informed of industry trends, software licensing models, cloud technologies, AI solutions, cybersecurity considerations, and supplier market developments to support strategic sourcing decisions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Information Technology, Finance, Legal Studies, or a related field; equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Five or more years of experience in vendor management, procurement, sourcing, contract management, IT business operations, or a related discipline.
  • Three or more years of leadership experience managing teams, projects, or vendor management functions.
  • Demonstrated experience negotiating vendor contracts, software licensing agreements, statements of work, pricing, and commercial terms.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement practices, contract lifecycle management, vendor governance, supplier performance management, and vendor compliance.
  • Experience managing the complete vendor lifecycle, including onboarding, due diligence, contract execution, performance management, renewals, escalations, and offboarding.
  • Broad understanding of technology procurement, SaaS, cloud services, managed services, software licensing, cybersecurity, and technology vendor pricing models.
  • Experience evaluating vendor performance metrics, spend analytics, contract renewals, and supplier reporting to support strategic decision-making.
  • Excellent negotiation, relationship management, communication, and stakeholder influence skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities with the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree or MBA.
  • Professional certifications such as CPSM, CSCP, ITIL, PMP, or other procurement, sourcing, vendor management, or contract management certifications.
  • Experience supporting enterprise IT organizations or technology procurement.
  • Knowledge of AI technologies and vendor governance considerations related to data privacy, security, and responsible AI adoption.
  • Experience with contract lifecycle management (CLM), procurement, ERP, or vendor management platforms.
