
[What the role is]
The Travel Agents & Tourist Guides (TATG) Division is seeking a dynamic, passionate and self-driven individual to be part of Compliance and Enforcement (C&E) team that oversees regulatory matters concerning Travel Agents (TA) and Tourist Guides (TG). The role involves handling feedback from members of public and stakeholders, developing operational plans and enforcement initiatives for industry compliance. Additionally, the officer will conduct investigations into contraventions under the Singapore Tourism Board Act 1963 and the Travel Agents Act 1975.
[What you will be working on]
Compliance Strategy & Planning
Develop and execute proactive strategies to enhance industry compliance, including planning and operationalising industry checks.
Leverage data analytics and statistics to identify industry lapses and drive resource-efficient initiatives.
Create targeted educational initiatives to raise industry-wide awareness of regulatory and compliance obligations.
Enforcement & Investigations
Take timely and appropriate regulatory action against non-compliant licensees to uphold industry standards.
Conduct investigations into non-compliance, unlicensed operations, and complaint cases, including interviewing and recording statements, gathering evidence, and preparing investigation reports to recommend enforcement action.
Work closely with Legal and AGC to support prosecution where required.
Digital Excellence in C&E
Drive initiatives to enhance C&E modules and processes on the Travel Agents & Tourist Guides Licensing System (TRUST).
Harness technology, including AI, to streamline compliance monitoring and case management.
Translate data insights from TRUST into actionable, risk-based enforcement priorities.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Review
Collaborate with other government agencies on joint operations and investigative work, ensuring a coordinated approach to enforcement.
Conduct regular reviews of internal regulatory frameworks and SOPs to keep compliance and enforcement efforts effective and relevant to the tourism landscape.
[What we are looking for]
At least 3 years of working experience in the areas of enforcement and investigations
Familiar with legislation, Penal Code, Criminal Procedure Code and other related legislation in the conduct of C&E work
Good verbal and written communications skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Enjoy challenges and problem solving
Resourceful in obtaining information, data and ground sentiments
