Your Role: MANAGER - TECHNICAL SERVICES

The role

The Manager-Technical Services is responsible to develop, implement and manage the Technical Services function as a complimentary service to Parts and Service Portfolio offerings with a focus on Value-add services including: equipment reliability, equipment performance Management and Planning. The position is to be based out at Udaipur.

Areas of responsibility

  • Complies with SMR safety policies and applicable government, customer or industry regulations or requirements.
  • Ensures team reports are working in a safe manner and following Company Policies and Guidelines
  • Accountable for establish seamless process from Commissioning to Completion of customer commitments.
  • Audits initiatives and process effectiveness through the development of Key Performance Indicators and feedback. Provides recommendations
  • Analyse service reports to assess the performance of underground drilling, loading and hauling equipment across HZL Project Sites.
  • Suggest corrective actions to Product company to improve reliability.
  • Analyse MTTR / MTBF for all equipment at all sites on weekly basis and take corrective measures to reduce MTTR & increase MTBF.
  • Evaluate RCAs (Root Cause Analysis) prepared by Service Specialists on Sites and provide guidance for course correction both to Product company as well as Site.
  • Analyse lubrication oil test reports to assess condition of equipment & suggest corrective action on maintenance planning to improve the equipment reliability.
  • Support logistics with technical evaluation on Right inventory at right place.
  • Ensure competency development of Sandvik Service Engineers and Service Provider Technicians.
  • Design and develop Technical Training programs to be conducted for Sandvik Service Engineers and Additional Work Force.
  • Impart Analytical Troubleshooting and Fault Diagnostic training.
  • Prepare SOP on maintenance practice.
  • Promote Chargeable Service for NFW Repairs.
  • Liaison between Product Company and HZL Sites (Site Operation Managers/Project Leaders) on technical and product quality issues and implement improvement suggested by Product Company.
  • Be a speaking partner of Product company in terms of customer feedback on product performance.
  • Drive customer centricity with entire service force across HZL sites.
  • Handle warranty claim settlement and warranty recovery from Product Company/Supplier.
  • Liaise with local representative of component OEM on performance improvement by better service support.

Your profile

You will have a degree/Diploma in a Mechanical/Electrical trade and at least 12-15+ years post trade experience of Asset Management, planning and scheduling preferably with mining equipment industry; advanced analytical and reporting skills, be customer focused and have a high attention to detail and work within Sandvik’s core values and have experience in Business Development and Commercial practices. Prior experience in managing technical service team is a plus.
