In this role, you'll:


Work as part of a high-performing finance team delivering end-to-end tax accounting services across a large and complex government organisation. This role will see you lead the delivery of GST, payroll tax, fringe benefits tax, fuel tax credits and taxable payments reporting. You will ensure accurate, timely and compliant tax lodgements while partnering closely with Group Finance and key stakeholders across the business.

You will lead a customer-focused tax accounting function, strengthening service delivery, improving processes and driving continuous improvement across systems, knowledge and performance. In this hands-on leadership role, you will balance strategic oversight with active involvement in resolving issues, improving service outcomes and uplifting team capability in a high-volume environment.

The team rhythm includes regular in-person collaboration days with a requirement to work from our Burwood office 3 days per week. Please note this is a Fixed Term Full-time opportunity up to July 2027.

About you


Your strong tax accounting expertise within large, complex organisations (ideally government), paired with proven leadership experience, will see you excel in managing compliance obligations, influencing stakeholders and delivering service improvements. You bring a practical, can-do approach, with the ability to build trusted relationships, navigate complexity and drive efficiency.

You are a qualified CPA, CA or Master of Taxation with a strong background in tax accounting and indirect tax compliance. You are recognised for your stakeholder engagement skills and ability to lead high-performing teams in fast-paced environments.
