As Manager for Surface Design Exterior Concept & Wheels, you will lead a team of skilled Surface Designers responsible for Surface Design development and program deliveries within exterior concepts and wheels.

You will have responsibility for people leadership, competence development, resource planning, quality and program delivery, ensuring that design intent is translated into high-quality digital surfaces while meeting program timing and technical requirements.

An important part of the role is being an active member of the Surface Design Management Team, working closely with fellow leaders to drive the department, our people, ways of working and the Surface Design profession forward.

What you'll do

• Lead, coach and develop the team, creating a collaborative and high-performing environment.
• Ensure high-quality Surface Design deliveries according to program timing, design intent and technical requirements.
• Plan and prioritize resources across programs and activities.
• Drive surface quality, craftsmanship and continuous improvement within the area.
• Collaborate closely with Design, Engineering, Program Management and other Surface Design teams.
• Actively contribute to the Surface Design Management Team, taking shared responsibility for the performance and development of the overall department.
• Develop capabilities, methods and ways of working to strengthen Surface Design for the future.

What you'll bring

• Experience within automotive design development and Surface Design is a requirement.
• Strong leadership capabilities and a genuine interest in developing people and teams.
• Ability to manage complex deliveries, priorities and stakeholders.
• Good understanding of the automotive design development process and digital surface development.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to create structure, set priorities and drive decisions in a dynamic environment.
