The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for ensuring ~$50M to $150M of materials are identified, specified, received, inspected, stored, and issued to support regional warehousing needs for demand and supply of services. The leader will support 1,000 to 3,000 business unit headcount and interfaces with managers, directors and vice presidents across RRE, Solar, Distribution, Outdoor Lighting, Transmission, Telecom, Natural Gas to maintain good working relationships and identify areas of opportunity. The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for consistently implementing the Supply Chain strategy to streamline operations and focus on operational excellence in terms of safety and performance. Directly manages the tasks and performance along with people leaders of a zone or distribution center. This individual will be responsible for providing leadership and guidance associated with the storage, issue, physical inventory, maintenance, shipping/receiving and resource coverage of assigned zone or Distribution Center. General responsibilities:
Promotes safety within supply chain organization in support of Company goals
Utilize Human Performance tools and the Corrective Action Process
Assures internal and external business partner in accordance with the Service Level Agreements.
Provides leadership and support of the corporate and departmental strategic plans
Career development of warehousing teammates through training and effective evaluations
Assure proper staffing levels and coverage are provided at Distribution Centers and zones
Compliance to all Codes, Standards, Regulatory Guides and Procedures
Manage a team of material handlers to support multiple Distribution & Transmission operation centers, Power Plants, Solar Farms, material laydown yards operated by Duke or by 3rd parties, outdoor yards and other sites used for material management by Duke Operational Business Units
Collaborate and develop relationships with Business Unit leaders at the Manager, Director, & Vice President levels to integrate business strategies, work schedules, material prioritization and resource allocation
Develop, coach, and oversee personnel performance
Ensure full compliance with all OSHA and Duke Safety regulations, environmental rules, and Operational Excellence model
Work with Supply Chain & Business Partner planning and inventory areas to proactively manage demand for warehousing services, resources required, inventory optimization, storm preparation and coordination with other operational teams
Develop and track operational performance metrics that connect to business strategies and priorities with corporate and front-line operational goals and tasks
Work with labor relations, HR, and Unions to comply with Union contractual obligations and resolve or escalate disputes
Ability to support efficient, safe, and reliable warehouse operations and support of multiple business units within an assigned territory or zone.
Manage a team of 10-25 craft and professional employees
Advanced skillsets that allow for the management of multiple tasks, including field work, data analytics and reporting
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to explain, summarize and present complex challenges and opportunities to both operational and non-operational audiences
Responsibilities
Directs the cost-effective and quality management of materials, equipment, and spare parts to support the operations and activities of Site and Zone objectives
Establishes and monitors short- and long-range goals and objectives for the Site and zone Supply Chain Warehouse Organization
Establish objectives that align back to organizational goals and SLA requirements
Works actively with other sites and zones and enterprise organization to ensure site and zone material needs are being met
Provides guidance and support to subordinates in the accomplishment of their responsibilities
Maintains effective and well-qualified warehouse, receiving and inspection teams through training, industry involvement and mentoring
Establishes and is accountable for section budget
Maintains a productive and motivated staff through effective human resources management and the implementation of appropriate personnel policy
Promotes a common direction on warehouse and receiving activities through establishment of a clear vision and appropriate goals and measures consistent with Supply Chain vision and goals
Oversees and monitors performance management and salary administration to ensure consistency and equity
Developing and providing developmental opportunities for staff that grows their skills across Supply Chain Establishes and maintains an effective working relationship with internal customers and external personnel
Interfaces with customer departments regarding Supply Chain activities and issues
As applicable, attends site and zone daily, outage, and planning meetings to maintain interface with customers, determine their materials needs and to resolve site and zone related issues
Interfaces regularly with SC enterprise management to promote effective relations and resolve material and scheduling problems
Intervenes when problems have the potential to significantly affect customer and/or supplier relations Effectively directs receiving, shipping and inspection areas for consistent operation within directives, regulations, and license commitments
Maintains clear focus on compliance with Supply Chain and Business Unit Service-Level Agreements (SLA)
Maintains clear focus on compliance with environmental and DOT regulations in the shipping and receiving areas
Ensures workers have access to appropriate tools and information to perform jobs safely and within guidelines
Ensures resources are scheduled to support site and zone needs
Effectively directs warehousing area for consistent operation within directives, regulations, and operational commitments to meet customer needs
Promotes departmental resources (materials and personnel) sharing in support of SC needs
Maintains focus on meeting customer needs at all sites and zones for materials requests
Leads or promotes departmental warehousing initiatives from continuous improvement and agile framework
Manages the site or zone receipts process for all materials and ensures that material meet Purchase Order specifications. Check materials for physical damage, quantity, documentation, chemical labeling and authorize invoice payment.
Assures all chemical related materials are stored in accordance with all applicable procedures and guidelines.
Assures that materials are maintained and stored in a manner that assures all applicable controls and traceability is maintained
Assures issues and returns of materials are in accordance with all applicable supply chain procedures
Perform routine warehouse inspection to assure materials are adequately stored and are following procedure.
Perform preventative maintenance check as required on all material handling equipment to assure they are in safe operating condition.
Provide feedback and input on warehousing directives that should be updated or deleted as needed to assure they are kept current
Performs safety observations and promotes a culture of safety

Bachelors degree in Other Related Degree
4 years related work experience

Working Experience:
At least 8 years related work experience
Understanding of budgeting and goal setting practices and the ability to manage departmental budgets to achieve financial and operational goals

The individual must balance Supply Chain, financial, legal, and regulatory factors to develop and manage plans and programs.
Knowledge of Environmental and Health & Safety (i.e. Environmental Checklists)
Working Conditions
Field Mobility Classification – Work will be performed in various field locations, as needed, after the onboarding period. However, field employees are required to live within a reasonable daily commute to their assigned work location.
Onsite at Distribution Center, Operation Centers and Generating Station.
Working in warehouse and receiving environments (indoors and outdoors)
Normal office environment with occasional travel to other sites, supplier facilities and industry meetings.
