Leads substation construction, apparatus testing, protection & controls and energization activities to ensure equipment is delivered safely, on time, and meets all technical requirements, providing integrated field leadership across teams for seamless execution and readiness for services.
Leads and oversees all phases of substation execution, including installation, testing, Protection & Controls and energization, ensuring alignment with approved scope, schedule, and safety requirements.
Leads construction crews, apparatus testing teams, and protection & control resources to achieve coordinated execution and readiness for energization.
Ensures adherence to technical standards, procedures, and quality assurance requirements to minimize risk and rework.
Coordinates cross-functional execution with Engineering, Operations, Telecom, and external contractors to resolve interface issues and maintain schedule integrity.
Monitors execution performance, identifies risks, and implements corrective actions to prevent delays, rework, or safety incidents.
Oversee reporting, documentation, and regulatory compliance associated with capital substation work to ensure accuracy and transparency.
Develop and mentor team members to build capability and improve collaboration, resulting in higher engagement and productivity.
Develops and manages departmental budgets to allocate resources effectively and meet operational targets.
Defines and monitors departmental KPIs to identify trends and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Leads, models and ensures consistent application of policies and regulatory standards across teams to support ethical operations and mitigate compliance risks.
Leads and validates the planning and execution of restoration and emergency preparedness activities to strengthen operational resilience and response capacity.
Assumes and oversees expanded duties aligned with organizational priorities and professional scope to drive departmental effectiveness and strategic alignment.
Additional Job Description:
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management or related field from an accredited university.
Experience
5 years of experience in substation construction, protection & controls and Apparatus Testing with at least 3 years' overseeing employees directly, leading teams, budgets and projects in a supervisor role.
Additional education may substitute for the required experience when it aligns with the competencies and knowledge necessary for the role: Associate degree in engineering or relevant field may substitute when accompanied by a minimum of 7 years of experience performing similar functions and at least 5 years of experience performing a previous position as Lead, Team Leader or Specialist role.
Demonstrated experience leading multiple discipline field teams and supervising foremen, technicians and contractors

Strong knowledge of substation construction practices, protection & control systems, and apparatus testing
Proven ability to plan and execute work across multiple disciplines and resolve execution conflicts
Exceptional skills in contractor management.

Proficient in computer applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access, Asset Suite).
