Job Description

Manager, Strategy & Execution

Department: Finance

Employment Type: Full Time

Location: Remote

Reporting To: Alex Gerson

Compensation: $140,000 - $150,000 / year

At Thorne, we work to deliver high-quality, science-backed solutions to empower individuals to take a proactive approach to their well-being. Each day begins with a mission to help others discover and achieve their best health. We count on our team members to challenge and push the boundaries to make that happen. At Thorne, you’ll be joining a team of more than 750 passionate individuals committed to our cause of providing superior health solutions at every age and life stage.

This role will partner closely with the Senior Director, Corporate Strategy to drive the planning, implementation, and optimization of Thorne’s enterprise strategy and key strategic initiatives. The Manager, Strategy & Execution will serve as a connective force between functional teams and executive leadership, ensuring that our strategic initiatives and annual business objectives translate into measurable results

This role is built for a passionate team player, who moves fluidly between structured problem-solving, program management, and hands-on execution: someone with as much intellectual curiosity as discipline, as quick to pressure-test a business case as to dig into why a team is stalled. The ideal candidate brings analytical rigor and ability to influence decision making, preferably with a background in consulting and consumer products.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Drive Cross-Functional Strategy Execution:
  • Turn assigned strategic priorities into concrete execution plans in partnership with initiative owners and department leaders.
  • For each initiative, help structure the decisions that matter most, the criteria for making them, and who needs to weigh in, then drive toward a decision instead of letting it stall in debate.
  • Identify and actively manage cross-functional dependencies, sequencing and execution risks that could prevent initiatives from delivering on plan.
  • Pressure-test initiative leads' assumptions and roadmaps, and challenge teams to develop creative, pragmatic solutions.
  • Establish a clear governance cadence and single source of truth within high-visibility initiatives, ensuring owners, dependencies, decisions, risks and milestones remain visible and actionable
Run the Strategy Execution Operating Rhythm:
  • Maintain a robust, scalable governance cadence to review, track, and govern progress across the enterprise initiative portfolio.
  • Facilitate executive-level reviews to assess initiative health, unlock resources, and support decision-making.
  • Surface risks, tradeoffs, and escalations early so leadership can make timely decisions and remove barriers to execution.
Build the Tracking Infrastructure and KPIs:
  • Partner with the Senior Director, Corporate Strategy, FP&A, and functional leads to define enterprise goals, objectives, key results, and success metrics, pressure-testing assumptions and ensuring measures are actionable.
  • Set clear thresholds and milestones that make it obvious when to course-correct, keeping teams a step ahead rather than reactive.
  • Build and maintain the infrastructure for performance tracking (charters, trackers, dashboards, milestone templates) that gives leadership visibility into progress and performance,
  • Track results against plan, identify gaps, and bring alternative approaches to the table when initiatives are off track.
  • Contribute to post-mortems that translate lessons into improvements to future initiative execution.
Enable Strategic Planning Cycles:
  • Support the annual planning process by developing frameworks, timelines, and facilitation materials for workshops, executive-level reviews, and initiative prioritization.
  • Coordinate with functional leaders to synthesize cross-functional inputs, surface tradeoffs and translate them into cohesive, actionable plans.
  • Partner with FP&A and functional leaders to translate strategy into annual operating plans, milestones and resource requirements.
Enhance Executive Communication and Alignment:
  • Develop high-impact communication materials, including executive-level updates, initiative scorecards, and progress briefings tailored to various audiences.
  • Ensure consistent messaging around priorities, resourcing decisions, and performance expectations across departments.
General:
  • Leverage agentic AI and other tools to reach more robust analysis and recommendations, faster.

WHAT YOU NEED

  • 4–6 years of experience in top-tier management consulting and/or an in-house strategy, operations, or general management role in consumer products, health & wellness, or a related industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field required. MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience leading or supporting commercial launches, channel expansion, or go-to-market programs is preferred, as is comfort working across sales, marketing, supply chain, R&D and quality.
  • Sharp analytical instincts: you assess business challenges quickly, model the financial and operational stakes, and turn insight into recommendations that drive complex, cross-functional projects to measurable outcomes.
  • You operate with an "AND" mindset: you speak your mind and listen actively, bring order to ambiguity, and default to "how can we?" over "can we?" You're comfortable challenging assumptions and pushing back on senior stakeholders when the situation calls for it.
  • Strong executive presence: you build clear, compelling materials and can present them yourself to senior leadership, including strong meeting facilitation
  • Strong prioritization skills and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, agile environment.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills; financial modeling, initiative tracking, PMO tools, and familiarity with agentic AI are all pluses.
  • Ability to travel 10 - 30% as needed for cross-functional working sessions and planning meetings.

WHAT WE OFFER

  • Competitive compensation
  • 100% company-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage for employees
  • Company-paid short- and long-term disability insurance
  • Company- paid life insurance
  • 401k plan with employer matching contributions up to 4%
  • Gym membership reimbursement
  • Monthly allowance of Thorne supplements
  • Paid time off, volunteer time off and holiday leave
