At Diageo India, Strategy is at the heart of shaping the future of one of India's largest and fastest-growing premium consumer goods businesses. As a Manager, you will partner with senior business leaders to solve the company's most important strategic questions — from long-term growth strategy and portfolio choices to market expansion, competitive advantage and capital allocation. The role combines the structured problem-solving rigour of top-tier consulting with the commercial ownership of a leading FMCG organization. You will translate data into insights, insights into strategy, and strategy into measurable business impact.

This is a high-visibility role with significant exposure to the Executive Leadership Team and opportunities to influence decisions that shape the future of Diageo India, while developing the capabilities expected of future business leaders.

Key Responsibilities

Enterprise & Growth Strategy

• Support the development of Diageo India's long-term growth strategy, including category, portfolio, routeto-market and geographic expansion priorities.

• Evaluate new growth opportunities by analysing consumer shifts, category dynamics, competitive landscapes and emerging industry trends

• Develop strategic recommendations grounded in rigorous quantitative and qualitative analysis.

• Translate strategy into actionable business plans with clear financial and commercial implications.

Strategic Projects

• Lead high-impact cross-functional strategy projects addressing the company's most critical business priorities.

• Structure ambiguous business problems into clear analytical frameworks and actionable workstreams.

• Develop hypotheses, conduct analyses, synthesize findings and present recommendations to senior leadership.

• Drive implementation planning and monitor execution against strategic objectives.

Consumer, Market & Competitive Intelligence

• Continuously monitor evolving consumer behaviors, macroeconomic trends, regulatory developments and competitive activity.

• Identify emerging opportunities and risks across categories, channels and price segments.

• Generate actionable insights using syndicated data, market research and internal performance data.

Commercial & Financial Analysis

• Develop robust business cases to support strategic investments and resource allocation decisions.

• Analyse category economics, pricing architecture, profitability drivers and market attractiveness.

• Evaluate strategic initiatives using financial metrics including revenue growth, gross margin, operating profit, ROI, NPV, IRR and Total Shareholder Return (TSR).

• Build scenario analyses and sensitivity models to support leadership decision-making.

Performance & Portfolio Management

• Support annual and long-range strategic planning processes.

• Assess portfolio performance across brands, categories and geographies.

• Identify structural growth opportunities and recommend portfolio optimisation actions.

• Develop strategic performance dashboards and track key value creation metrics.

Executive Communication

• Develop compelling, executive-ready presentations and strategic narratives for the Board, Investor related/other external forums.

• Distil complex analyses into concise, insight-led recommendations.

• Communicate effectively with senior stakeholders across Strategy, Finance, Commercial, Marketing and Supply Chain functions.

• Ability to identify emerging consumption trends and translate them into business opportunities.

• Experience working with market research or syndicated data is preferred.

Financial Acumen

• Working knowledge of financial statements, particularly the P&L.

• Understanding of profitability drivers, margin structures and value creation.

• Familiarity with investment appraisal techniques and shareholder value metrics including TSR.

• Ability to build robust business cases supported by financial analysis.

Analytical Excellence

• Strong quantitative problem-solving skills.

• Ability to analyse large datasets and derive meaningful business insights.

• Comfortable working with Excel, PowerPoint and data visualisation tools. Communication & Storytelling

• Exceptional written and verbal communication.

• Ability to simplify complex analyses into compelling executive narratives.

• Strong presentation skills with attention to detail and executive presence.

• Ability to work across multiple functions and senior stakeholders.
