Role and Responsibilities:

Understand and shape the company’s strategies

  • Research competition to identify threats and opportunities;
  • Monitor and analyse industry trends and market changes;
  • Align processes, resources-planning and department goals with the Company’s overall strategy to deliver long-term and sustainable financial performance and profitability;
  • Establish and track Company’s KPIs, assess the company’s operational and strategic performance, with a focus in monitoring business performance and financial reporting;

Project management and support to business units

  • Provide support and assist GM Corporate Strategy and Risks any tasks or projects assigned to ensure projects are delivered smoothly and on time;
  • Work with BU on cross-team initiatives and provide support to identify pain points, find solutions and track benefits.
  • Conducted research and business proposal analysis/recommendations for BUs on current policies/practices.
  • Organise strategy and/or culture workshops and/or meetings for the leadership team.

Reportings and board meetings

  • Coordinate with internal teams and prepare the input for Annual Business Review, Interim Business Review, regular reports etc required to Cathay.

Leading and grooming the Strategy team

  • Grooming the team to provide data support and compile presentation decks to CEO and other BUs.
  • Guiding the team members to support BUs’ transformation initiatives, such as data modelling simulation or other internal consultancy projects.

Act as a Data Steward of Strategy team

  • Conduct Privacy Impact Assessment, govern the internal data usage and monitor third party regularly to ensure the handling of personal data (not limited to access, transfer and retention of data) is in line with the data handling manuals and guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of working experience in aviation industry, including 2 years in a managerial role;
  • Degree holder or above with major in related discipline;
  • Background in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, or a related field will be an advantage;
  • Fluent written and spoke English;
  • Fluency in Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin) is an advantage.

  • Proven experience as a strategic planner or business consultant;
  • Understanding of market research and data analysis;
  • Knowledge of airline business operations and procedures;
  • Demonstrable strategic thinking abilities;
  • Leadership skill to lead and groom a team;
  • Analytical mind with problem-solving aptitude;
  • Organisational and leadership skills;
  • Excellent communication and networking skills;
  • Ability to positively influence people and stakeholders;
  • Suitably proficient in the full Microsoft Office suite and AI tools
