Job Description

WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

This role reports to the Store Development Director of Japan and partners closely with Asia Pacific Latin America (APLA) and Japan teams. The role collaborates with cross‑functional groups across Real Estate, Retail Brand, Loss Prevention, IT/Tech, Store Operations, Facilities, Marketing, Merchandising, and Store Opening/Remodel cross-functional teams. As the construction subject matter expert, the Manager, Store Construction Management Japan ensures alignment across partners, drives clarity, and supports seamless execution of Nike’s store development strategy.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The Manager, Store Construction Management Japan leads the execution of Nike’s new store builds and remodels across all channels, ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to Nike’s quality standards. This leader is a strong collaborator with deep construction expertise who thrives in a dynamic, cross‑functional environment.

  • Minimum 5–6 years of experience in corporate retail construction or store development, including multi‑market oversight and significant experience managing large budgets and complex project portfolios.
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field.
  • Deep knowledge of construction processes, vendor management, and cost control, with experience navigating diverse cultural and operational contexts.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence, communicate, collaborate, and build strong relationships across cross‑functional teams and external partners, while leading and coaching Construction, Facility, and Nike Store Partner (NSP) Construction Teams.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills (in both English and Japanese).

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

You will oversee a broad construction program, managing a high‑volume portfolio of projects each year while ensuring clarity that you will not directly manage every individual project. You will lead vendor relationships, cost management, contract oversight, and the rollout of new concepts and pilots while driving program alignment across construction and cross‑functional partners.

  • Lead end‑to‑end construction delivery, ensuring projects meet timelines, budgets, and Nike’s quality standards.
  • Align design intent, construction timelines, and rollout strategies with APLA and Japan teams.
  • Manage vendor relationships, contract execution, and cost control across the project portfolio.
  • Oversee the implementation of new store concepts, pilot formats, and fixture installations.
  • Track project milestones, financials, and risks to maintain clarity and drive informed decision‑making.
  • Advise cross‑functional partners on construction strategies and standards while mentoring Construction, Facilities, and NSP teams.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with third‑party vendors to enable consistent, high‑quality execution.
