GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY:

The Support Staff Manager is accountable for the effective coordination, supervision, and performance management of staff schedulers, clinic assistants, and treatment schedulers to ensure the delivery of efficient, high-quality, and patient-centered services within the Systemic Therapy & Outpatient Services department under the direction of the director.

This role provides operational leadership in staffing, clinical support activities, and resource management while fostering a positive work environment that promotes staff development, teamwork, safety, and service excellence. Working collaboratively with clinical and administrative leaders, the Support Staff Manager ensures alignment with organizational goals, adherence to applicable policies and collective agreements, and supports continuous improvement in service delivery and patient care processes.

The Manager is responsible for scheduling and coordinating a variety of activities, including managing #FULL appointments, facilitating additional clinics, and organizing procedure bookings. To ensure timely and efficient appointment scheduling, the incumbent collaborates closely with department staff, medical services, Community Oncology Program of Saskatchewan, pharmacy, and radiation therapy departments, as well as patients and their families. This role requires a high degree of accuracy in collecting and recording appointment volumes and related statistical data.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

• Medical Office Administration certificate (OR) Office Education/Secretarial certificate plus completion of a Medical Terminology course (OR) completed two (2) years of training in a health-related field.

Experience:

• Two (2) years recent experience within the past five years of performing complex scheduling (patient and/or staff scheduling).
• Previous management experience utilizing the #Full report to support workload management, operational planning, and decision-making is required.
