Our team of three fundraising professionals at Scripps Health Foundation Encinitas uses a donor-centered philanthropic approach relying on strong partnerships with clinical allies in both the hospital and clinic settings. We work closely with volunteer community advisory groups and local retirement communities to grow the donor pipeline and secure meaningful support from grateful patients in both the North County Coastal and Inland markets.
About the position:
ØThis role plays a vital part in supporting the efforts of the major gift fundraising team. Key responsibilities include assisting in securing gifts of up to $25,000 and collaborating with major gift officers on contributions of all sizes. Additionally, this position is instrumental in identifying and cultivating new donors, a critical component in expanding and strengthening the donor pipeline.
ØAs Manager, Special Gifts, you will assist in cultivating and soliciting special gifts ($1k-$25k) from individuals for assigned priority projects, centers, programs or campaigns, with/without volunteer assistance as appropriate.
ØProvide stewardship to all donors within areas of responsibility.
ØServe as a key member of the Major Gifts group and works with Director of Development to identify, cultivate and solicit gifts of $25k+.
ØWork closely with Foundation staff to develop and optimize strategies to obtain gifts for areas of responsibility.
ØEstablish regular communication with key individuals from hospitals, centers or programs to assist in identifying specific operational, capital and endowment programs requiring private support.
ØRepresent Scripps and presents institutional case and funding priority specifics to civic groups and other public and private organizations.
#LI-JS1Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:
·Bachelor's degree plus three years fund-raising or related volunteer and professional experience.
·Knowledge of and experience in philanthropic fund development is preferred.
·Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with varied constituencies, including volunteers, physicians, patients and donors.
·Excellent writing and verbal skills, including ability to make presentations.
·Computer proficiency, including expertise in Word and Excel.
·Creative, self-starting, results-oriented and committed to working as part of a team enterprise.
·Ability to organize time effectively and manage a large number of tasks simultaneously. Strong sense of ethical conduct
