Description

Infor is seeking an experienced Software Development Manager to lead a multidisciplinary engineering team responsible for developing and supporting next-generation digital solutions for the Hospitality Point of Sale (POS) platform.

This leader will oversee software engineers, quality assurance professionals, and associate-level talent responsible for modern web applications, mobile solutions, cloud-native services, APIs, integrations, analytics, and customer-facing digital experiences.

The successful candidate will combine strong people leadership with modern software delivery practices to build high-performing teams that deliver scalable, reliable, and innovative solutions. They will foster a culture centered on engineering excellence, continuous learning, quality, accountability, and customer success.

A Typical Day in the Life Includes

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of software engineers and quality engineering professionals.
• Conduct career development planning, coaching, performance discussions, and mentorship activities.

• Recruit, onboard, and retain top engineering talent.
• Support the growth of associate-level employees through structured development plans and technical mentorship.

Software Delivery & Execution

• Manage delivery of web, mobile, backend, integration, and analytics initiatives.
• Collaborate with Product Management and Architecture to define and execute product roadmaps.
• Drive sprint planning, capacity planning, estimation, prioritization, and release activities.
• Balance feature development, technical debt reduction, modernization efforts, and operational support requirements.
• Monitor delivery metrics and continuously improve team effectiveness.

Technical Leadership

• Provide technical oversight across modern web applications, mobile applications, cloud-native services, and APIs.
• Promote best practices in software architecture, quality engineering, security, observability, and DevOps.
• Support development initiatives utilizing technologies such as:
• Angular
• TypeScript
• AWS Lambda
• API Gateway
• DynamoDB
• Serverless Architectures
• Mobile Development Frameworks
• Cloud-Native Application Patterns
• Collaborate with architects to define technical direction and modernization strategies.

Quality & Operational Excellence

• Champion automation-first quality practices.
• Support test automation, performance testing, and operational monitoring initiatives.
• Ensure solutions meet performance, reliability, scalability, and security expectations.
• Drive continuous improvement within software development lifecycle practices.
• Establish and monitor engineering quality metrics and KPIs

Stakeholder & Customer Engagement

• Partner with Product Management, Professional Services, Customer Success, Sales Engineering, and Support organizations.
• Participate in customer discussions and strategic planning activities when required.
• Communicate project status, technical risks, and delivery milestones to leadership stakeholders.
• Ensure engineering efforts align with customer needs and business priorities.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• 5-7 years of progressive experience in software development, software quality engineering, or technology delivery.
• 2+ years of experience leading technical initiatives, developers, or cross-functional teams.
• Experience delivering customer-facing web or mobile applications.
• Experience working within Agile software development environments.
• Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proven ability to effectively prioritize competing business and technical demands.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous people management experience.
• Experience leading distributed or global engineering teams.
• Experience developing cloud-native applications on AWS.
• Experience with modern front-end frameworks such as Angular.
• Experience with mobile application development.
• Knowledge of serverless architectures and event-driven systems.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Experience leading quality engineering and automation initiatives.
• Exposure to analytics, reporting, or data platforms.
• Hospitality, restaurant, retail, or POS industry experience.
