Job Description

[What the role is]

Do you love Singapore for punching above its weight as a Little Red Dot? Can you identify with the grit exhibited by our founding leaders and generation as they worked hard to build Singapore to what it is today? If the answer is "yes", join us at the Founders' Memorial (FM)!

At the FM, we are creating a brand-new garden-museum experience for Singaporeans, by Singaporeans. A national landmark at the heart of our garden city, uncovering the story of how independent Singapore came to be, and bringing Singaporeans across generations together to reflect and have bold conversations about what our founding values mean today and for our future.

The FM is seeking a suitable candidate to join the Partnerships and Programmes team. You will be part of a passionate team dedicated to expanding and deepening FM’s impact through strategic partnerships and innovative programming. You will implement strategies to reach new audiences and create meaningful opportunities for citizens and stakeholders to participate in and contribute to FM’s vision. Look forward to being a part of creating a living Memorial that unites, challenges and inspires Singaporeans of all generations towards a brighter future.

[What you will be working on]

  • Partnership Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with community partners, local organisations, schools, and other stakeholders, engaging them as key collaborators in advancing FM’s objectives.

  • Programme Development: Plan, curate and execute community programmes, events, and workshops that facilitate meaningful interactions and dialogue between diverse individuals across different communities , focusing on (but not limited to) fostering inter-generational, foreign-local, and inter-ethnic interactions within the museum/garden setting.

  • Campaigns and Community Outreach: Conceptualise and lead end-to-end campaign planning and execution, including awareness, outreach, and engagement campaigns. Design and oversee community-centric and accessible initiatives that attract and cater to diverse audiences.

  • Donor Management: Manage and support donor relations and privileges to cultivate giving of time, talent, treasures and ties, for FM's programmes.

  • Evaluation and Reporting: Monitor the effectiveness of community programmes, gather feedback, and prepare reports to assess the impact and success of the initiatives.

  • Budget Management: Monitor and track budget utilisation of assigned programmes and prepare reports for proper accountability of funds and resources.

[What we are looking for]

  • Background in a relevant field such as arts, business, communications, public policy or social sciences

  • At least three years of relevant experience, with a track record in partnership management and programme development. Work experience in a museum or attraction setting is an advantage but not mandatory.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills. Good command of the English language (written and verbal) – candidates who are proficient in a Mother Tongue language will be considered favourably as selected candidate would be required to engage diverse groups of non-English speaking stakeholders.

  • Strong understanding of audience development and community engagement strategies, particularly in the context of facilitating cross-cultural interactions.

  • Values authenticity and human connection. Has a keen interest to promote intercultural dialogue and understanding.

  • Proficiency in project management and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

  • Familiarity with evaluation methods and reporting techniques to measure the impact of programmes

  • Some weekend and after-work hours engagements might be required – candidates should be prepared to exercise some flexibility in his/her work schedule
