Job Description

Working closely with the Director of Slot Operations, the Manager Slot Operations will play an important role in Leading the Slot Department. The Manager of Slot Operations will focus on accomplishing the goals of the slot department consistent with property values. Including a focus on guest relations, business development and maintaining a fun and exciting atmosphere. Provides support, leadership, motivation, training, coaching, and mentoring to all direct reports and subordinates. Creates an environment of trust and respect through empowerment of staff at all levels. Encourages high morale, fosters teamwork, and partnering among all team members.

Core Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the establishment and administration of accurate procedures and policies involving all operating activities including compliance with the NGCB MICS rules and regulations.
  • Promote teamwork, monitor and supervise the daily Slot Floor Operation; ensure that all employees provide courteous, and expedient service.
  • Responsible for leading all departmental initiatives related to Slot Operations including hiring, training, policy and procedure development.
  • Reviews and recommends policy changes to the Director of Slot Operations.
  • Assigns the overall responsibility for slot operations team members.
  • Develops strategies and leads initiatives to continuously improve guest service.
  • Meets individually with direct reports regularly to discuss career goals, identify skills needed to achieve goals and from those discussions, creates meaningful development plans to strengthen talent and expertise.
  • Establishes procedures to uphold adherence to the NGCB MICS, and system of internal controls.
  • Supports Slots leadership to ensure staff is scheduled properly and aligned with business volumes.
  • Follows through on all projects and direction as designated by the Director of Slot Operations.
  • Ensures timely, accurate evaluations and appropriate development plans with clear directives for direct reports.
  • Maintains open communication and ensures fair treatment for all employees.
  • Communicates all pertinent department information and relays policy and procedure changes to ensure consistency on all shifts.
  • Establishes schedule and processes to strategize optimum floor coverage. Coordinates with the Shift Managers to ensure consistency.
  • Perform other job duties as requested.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of five years related experience required and five years of experience within a hotel/gaming property is preferred.
  • Must be able to obtain a Nevada Gaming Card
  • Must have a valid Nevada Driver’s License.
  • Bachelors Degree preferred

Physical Demands:

  • Work is performed in a Casino environment.
  • Must be tolerant to varying conditions of noise level, temperature, illumination, and air quality.
  • May be exposed to smoke
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
  • Constant contact with executives, department management, employees, and guests.
  • Prolonged sitting or standing and mobility.
  • Balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, repetitive motions Lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Eye/hand coordination.
  • Use of standard office equipment.
  • Ability to distinguish letters, numbers, and symbols
