Manager Shopper Based Design

The role focuses on actively participating in the continuous business planning process with an emphasis on category management strategies and initiatives. You will lead the team in adapting, selling, and executing health and wellness, regimen, and self-care holistic solutions, primarily focusing on key retailers but also potentially with other customers in the channel. Your role is crucial in driving the identification of customer and/or channel shopper insight issues and opportunities, coordinating with HQ SBD & Com. Strategy, and identifying Bayer brand business opportunities based on retailer and shopper insights.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Actively participate in the continuous business planning process focusing on category management strategies and initiatives;
  • Plan, develop, customize, and conduct platform presentations (category, regimen, self-care) with Bayer customer and/or channel teams;
  • Lead the team in adapting, selling, and executing health and wellness, regimen, and/or self-care holistic solutions with a focus on key retailers;
  • Drive ongoing identification of customer and/or channel shopper insight issues and opportunities with the team; coordinate with HQ SBD & Com. Strategy;
  • Identify Bayer brand business opportunities based on retailer and shopper insights;
  • Lead the development of category selling, influencing planograms, and Bayer "test and learn" category and department concepts with customers;
  • Lead insight development utilizing customer POS data, syndicated data, and industry information for new opportunities and in support of existing initiatives/actions;
  • Support and/or conduct ongoing category reviews and analyses;
  • Monitor and track competitive activity, new item performance, and shopper engagement activity;
  • Utilize customer data, information, and resources for ongoing analyses;
  • Develop a high-performing team, providing coaching and mentoring as needed.

WHO YOU ARE:

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

  • BS/BA degree or equivalent experience; MBA desirable;
  • 8+ years of progressive Category Management, Sales, Trade Marketing, Brand Marketing, or Shopper Research experience in the consumer packaged goods industry, data-services industry, or related experience;
  • Preferred 2-4 years of Field/HQ Category Management or Customer Marketing or Sales Strategy experience as well as exposure to all trade classes;
  • Direct selling experience required;
  • Strong working knowledge of the selling and category management process;
  • Preferred experience dealing with Field and HQ organizations;
  • Strong ability to manage personnel through multi-task functions and multiple projects;
  • Excellent financial management skills to critically and objectively assess programs and cost investments versus results;
  • Superior analytical ability, assessing different models and related outputs, with an understanding of impact;
  • Excellent communication skills required, with the ability to create an environment that encourages innovation and risk-taking;
  • Strong analytical skills and comfortability with digital programs and platforms, including strong MS Office skills;
  • Thorough knowledge of digital strategy development, digital strategies, channels, and measurement/analytics;
  • Experience owning L.O.B. budgets and results.

Employees can expect to be paid a sal ary between $123,148.00 - $184,722.00Additional compensation may include a bonus or incentive compensation (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc.. This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant’s location, market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.

This position will be available until at least December 12th, 2025.
