Job Description

Role Purpose – Energised & Future-Focused

The Manager Service Delivery leads the organisation’s operational performance and sets the direction for how services are delivered now and into the future. Reporting to the Executive General Manager, this role champions the Kinetic Way by shaping a high-performing, safety-first culture and driving strategic workforce planning to support long-term growth.

With a strong emphasis on leadership over day-to-day management, the role inspires and develops operational teams, ensuring they have the capability, clarity and confidence to deliver safe, compliant and efficient services. It plays a pivotal part in strengthening depot and fleet standards, elevating employee engagement, and embedding continuous improvement across all service delivery functions.

The Manager Service Delivery also contributes to strategic planning, financial performance, and business expansion—anticipating future needs, designing forward-looking operational strategies, and ensuring the organisation is positioned for sustainable success.

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead with impact: As a people-focused leader, guide and inspire your operations team to deliver safe, dependable services while building a culture people are proud to be part of.
  • Shape a high-performing driver workforce: Own the full employee journey, from recruitment and rostering through to performance, payroll, and retention.
  • Deliver services that run smoothly: Partner with senior leadership and Sales, applying sound commercial and operational judgement to keep services efficient, safe, and on budget.
  • Set the standard for compliance: Bring a process-driven mindset to operational, contractual, safety, and audit requirements, backed by regular depot and documentation reviews.
  • Grow your people: Communicate with purpose and lead visibly, building capability through hands-on coaching, training, and genuine engagement with drivers and operational teams.
  • Keep the depot ready for anything: Take a proactive approach with HSE and Workshop teams to lift depot standards, close gaps before they become problems, and ensure strong emergency response readiness.
  • Drive the business forward: Track service performance, champion continuous improvement, and help shape annual budgets and business planning.
  • Work across the full picture: Move comfortably between day-to-day operational oversight and broader management responsibilities.

Qualifications / Education / Experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in business, management or a related field (preferred).
  • Proven leadership experience with strong operational and change-management capability.
  • Solid understanding of operational systems, logistics and the Western Australian transport environment.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and analytical skills, with strong digital literacy (MS Office;
  • Power BI/Automate valued).
  • Self-motivated, adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced, continually evolving operational setting.

About Kinetic

Established over 45 years ago, Kinetic has grown to become the largest bus operator in Australia and New Zealand, and a global, multi-modal transport network with operations that span across the UK, Europe and Singapore.

We began in 1978 with Melbourne’s Skybus – a cost efficient, reliable airport transfer service. Today, we manage a global network of bus and rail services, with a team of 36,000 dedicated people and 11,000 buses seamlessly moving over 100 million passengers every year.

We’re the trusted operator of urban, regional, school and charter bus services across Australia and New Zealand. We operate 40 per cent of buses in Queensland, a third of Melbourne’s bus network, and almost half of bus services in Tasmania. In NZ, we’re proud to partner with councils in Auckland, Christchurch, Wellington and Tauranga.

Our expertise spans continents, operating in five countries across Europe. In the UK, we run the Go Ahead network – alongside joint venture partner Globalvia – which includes the Govia Thameslink rail link, the largest and most complex rail system in the country.

We believe in improving the communities in which we live and operate, and making a positive impact on people’s lives.

We’re removing the diesel buses that emit millions of tons of greenhouse gases every year. We’re putting women up front. And we believe in LGBTQI+ inclusion and the freedom to be your true self.

Governments, airports, businesses, schools and councils count on us every day. You too, can count on Kinetic.
