[What the role is]

We are seeking a dedicated Safety Risk Management Officer to join the Air Navigation Services (ANS) Safety Division. This role is essential in strengthening our proactive safety risk management framework through systematic risk identification, assessment, and mitigation activities. The successful candidate will play a key role in enhancing aviation safety standards whilst ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to aviation safety excellence within a leading air navigation services organisation whilst developing expertise in cutting-edge safety risk management practices and regulatory compliance.

[What you will be working on]

  • Risk Identification & Assessment Assist in the systematic identification, assessment, and evaluation of safety risks within the ANS Safety Division through comprehensive risk analysis methodologies. Contribute to the development and implementation of proactive safety risk management initiatives that anticipate potential hazards and prevent safety incidents before they occur. Conduct thorough risk assessments using established frameworks and emerging analytical techniques.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration & Integration Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders, including operational units, safety teams, and management personnel, to seamlessly integrate safety risk management capabilities into existing operational processes and safety initiatives. Foster strong working relationships that promote a culture of continuous improvement, proactive risk mitigation, and shared responsibility for safety outcomes across all levels of the organisation.

  • Risk Assessment Coordination & Strategy Development Support the coordination and execution of comprehensive safety risk assessments, ensuring systematic evaluation of operational hazards and their potential impacts. Contribute to the development of robust risk mitigation strategies that align with Civil Aviation Authority regulations, International Civil Aviation Organization standards, and industry best practices. Assist in creating and maintaining risk registers and mitigation action plans.

  • Data Analysis & Decision Support Assist in the collection, analysis, and interpretation of safety-related data and information from various sources including incident reports, operational data, and safety performance indicators. Transform analytical findings into clear, actionable insights that contribute to proactive safety risk management and support evidence-based decision-making processes throughout the ANS Safety Division.

[What we are looking for]

  • Trained in Aviation Management, Safety Engineering, Risk Management, Aeronautical Engineering, or related field

  • Minimum 2-4 years of experience in aviation safety, risk management, or air traffic management roles

  • Strong understanding of aviation safety management systems and regulatory frameworks

  • Knowledge of Civil Aviation Authority regulations and International Civil Aviation Organization standards

  • Comprehensive understanding of air navigation services operations and procedures

  • Familiarity with aviation risk assessment methodologies and safety performance measurement

  • Knowledge of Human Factors principles in aviation operations

  • Experience with aviation safety databases and reporting systems

  • Understanding of air traffic control systems and operational procedures

  • Proficiency in risk assessment tools and methodologies (e.g., bow-tie analysis, fault tree analysis, HAZOP)

  • Experience with data analysis software and statistical tools

  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities

  • Ability to interpret complex operational and safety data

  • Competency in developing risk matrices and safety performance indicators

  • Detail-oriented approach with high accuracy in risk assessment activities

  • Understanding of change management principles in safety-critical environments

  • Familiarity with SMS (Safety Management System) implementation and maintenance

  • Knowledge of aviation incident investigation processes and methodologies

  • Understanding of regulatory compliance requirements and audit processes

  • Awareness of international aviation safety standards and best practices

  • Experience in air traffic control or aviation operations

  • Understanding of aviation emergency response procedures

  • Experience with safety training programme development and delivery
