Manager – Corporate Tax - Financial Services

With continued growth in our Financial Services practice, EY is an exciting place to build your career and make a real impact in the financial services industry. We are seeking a driven Manager or Senior Manager to join our collaborative Financial Services Tax team in Melbourne.
Our team brings diverse perspectives and backgrounds, creating a welcoming and inclusive work environment that fosters growth and innovation. As part of our national team, you will collaborate with colleagues across Australia, delivering innovative solutions that help our clients meet their tax obligations while maximising commercial outcomes. This role is ideal for individuals seeking long-term career progression, including a pathway towards Partnership.
This is a hybrid position based in Melbourne. Our roles can be adjusted to work flexibly with reduced hours.
Your key responsibilities
As a Manager or Senior Manager, you will take ownership of client engagements while supporting the development of our people and broader practice.
Provide Australian income tax advisory and compliance services to clients in banking, wealth management, asset management, superannuation and insurance sectors
Advise a portfolio of financial services clients on complex tax matters, including compliance, provisions and strategic tax advice
Build strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor and contributing to business development
Lead, coach and develop team members, ensuring high-quality delivery while supporting capability uplift across the team
Skills and attributes for success
To succeed in this role, you will bring strong technical capability combined with leadership, commercial acumen and a strategic mindset.
Financial services industry experience with Australian corporate tax and/or fund tax exposure, ideally gained in professional services or industry
Strong leadership capability, with demonstrated ability to influence, develop and inspire others
Commercial mindset with the ability to build and grow client relationships
Strong strategic thinking skills, with the ability to operate beyond day-to-day technical delivery
Ideally, you’ll also have the below, but don’t worry if you don’t tick every box:
Experience managing multiple complex engagements and delivering high-quality client outcomes
Strong client-facing skills with the confidence to lead discussions and present technical matters clearly
CA or equivalent qualification
