About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Compensation & Benefits professional to join our client on an interim assignment for 6–8 months. This role will be responsible for driving end-to-end payroll governance, compensation operations, statutory compliance coordination, reporting, audits, and employee compensation support in partnership with an external payroll service provider and internal stakeholders.
The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in payroll operations, compensation administration, statutory processes, reporting, reconciliations, and financial accuracy, as well as the ability to independently manage multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll & Compensation Operations
Manage end-to-end payroll coordination with the third-party payroll vendor.
Validate monthly payroll inputs and ensure timely and accurate payroll processing.
Conduct payroll validation, salary variance analysis, and net pay variance checks.
Perform final payroll audits and ensure payroll accuracy before salary disbursement.
Manage bank transfer validation, transfer advice, and bank file uploads on banking portals.
Coordinate payroll-related statutory compliance payments and timelines.
Support payroll processing for interns and consultants.
Handle employee compensation and payroll-related queries effectively.
Compensation Administration
Prepare and manage offer letters and increment letters.
Support salary revisions, compensation structures, and related documentation.
Manage reimbursement payments and lease-related payments.
Prepare salary provisions and salary journal vouchers (JV).
Coordinate salary JV entries in SAP.
Reporting, Reconciliation & Compliance
Prepare MIS reports for HR and leadership stakeholders.
Conduct monthly headcount reconciliations.
Support quarterly activities including:
Inventory loading data
Audit schedules
Cross-charge reconciliations
Gratuity valuation
Leave provision calculations
Support annual operating planning (AOP) activities related to compensation and manpower budgeting.
Ensure proper documentation, audit readiness, and process compliance.
Key Requirements
8–15+ years of experience in Compensation & Benefits, Payroll Operations, or HR Shared Services.
Strong expertise in payroll governance and vendor-managed payroll environments.
Experience handling payroll audits, reconciliations, salary variances, and statutory compliance coordination.
Hands-on exposure to SAP and payroll systems.
Strong analytical and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work independently in an individual contributor setup.
High attention to detail and strong process orientation.
Prior experience in manufacturing, healthcare, pharmaceutical, medical devices, or similar regulated industries will be preferred.
