Job Description

WHY PATIENTS NEED YOU

This 6-months secondment opportunity (with a potential to be renewed for another 6 months) is for a Senior Clinical Data Scientist (Sr CDS) within Clinical Data & Information Sciences (CDIS), supporting the Oncology portfolio, with a strong focus on Accelerate studies.
The Sr CDS will act as a data and delivery leader, providing end‑to‑end clinical data science expertise, driving quality and timeliness of clinical trial data, and serving as a key partner to study teams and cross‑functional stakeholders.

In addition to strong technical and delivery expertise, this role will have direct reports, so it is required proven experience in training, mentoring, and coaching, contributing to capability building and talent development within CDIS.

WHAT YOU WILL ACHIEVE

  • Train, mentor, and coach DM colleagues, including onboarding and ongoing development of less‑experienced team members.

  • Provide day‑to‑day guidance and functional leadership to DM staff.

  • Actively contribute to capability building initiatives, knowledge sharing, and community‑of‑practice activities within DM.

  • Support succession planning and talent development through structured coaching and feedback.

  • Keep frequent 1:1s, growth & development discussions.

  • Perform resourcing taking into consideration the study requirements and the direct reports development needs, across multiple TAs.

HOW YOU WILL ACHIEVE IT

  • Provide end‑to‑end leadership and oversight of Clinical Data Science activities across assigned Oncology clinical studies, with particular emphasis on Accelerate program studies.

  • Act as the primary Clinical Data Science point of contact for study teams, ensuring data strategy alignment with study objectives, operational plans, and portfolio priorities.

  • Drive high‑quality, inspection‑ready clinical data deliverables, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, standards, and internal processes.

  • Partner closely with Clinical Operations, Biostatistics, Programming, Safety, and external vendors to proactively identify and mitigate data risks.

  • Lead and influence study‑level and asset‑level decision making related to data strategy, quality, timelines, and issue resolution.

  • Apply advanced data review, analysis, and visualization techniques to support data‑driven insights and study execution excellence.

  • Support process improvements, innovation initiatives, and best‑practice adoption within Clinical Data Sciences.

  • Act as a role model for CDIS behaviors, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must-Have

  • Applicant must have a bachelor's degree with at least 4+ years ofexperience; OR amaster's degree with at least 2+ years of experience; ORa PhD with 0+ years of experience; OR as associate's degree with 8+ yearsof experience; OR a high school diploma (or equivalent) and 10+ years ofrelevant experience.

  • Position is considered Flexible, and colleagues are expected to comply with Log In For Your Day (LIFYD) requirements at site location (e.g. about 2.5 days a week in office).

  • Note: This secondment offers a valuable opportunity for professional growth. It will need to be funded by the secondee’s home market.
