Basic Function and Responsibility
To manage staff in the execution of a safe and secure environment for court employees, and clients, and oversee courtroom security operations.
Appointing Authority and Supervision Received
The deputy court administrator of family court is the appointing authority. The security operations manager receives direct supervision by the director of the department.
Supervision Exercised
This position is directly responsible for the supervision of security officer staff.

Minimum Qualifications: (Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis, provided a high school diploma or GED has been obtained.)
Associate’s degree in a related field plus three years of directly related experience in law enforcement, security, or military. Some experience in physical security, inclusive of at least one year of supervisory experience.
Necessary Special Requirement
Must be qualified to successfully obtain Private Commissioned Officer Class A license, as required by RSMO and outlined in 17 CSR 10-2.050 Testing Requirement and Qualification Standards, which includes but is not limited to the following qualifications:
a) Be a citizen of the United Sates.
b) Be at least 21 years old.
c) If a veteran, possess an honorable discharge, or general discharge under honorable conditions.
d) Meet physical/mental established board standards.
e) Have no felony convictions.
Must be capable of obtaining firearm authorization and complete court approved firearm qualification program if directed by Court Authority.
Must be first aid/AED/CPR qualified and safe clinch certified or become certified with six months of employment.
