Job Description

JOB PURPOSE

The Manager – SAP Finance is responsible for leading, governing, and continuously improving SAP and non-SAP Finance processes across the organization. This role ensures stable operations, process excellence, compliance, and value realization from SAP Finance solutions (FI/CO and allied areas) across multiple entities and diversified lines of business. The position contributes to organizational objectives by driving digital finance transformation, enabling accurate financial reporting, supporting audits and statutory compliance, and aligning IT finance solutions with business strategy. Also Support the Lead Finance in delivering the customer satisfaction

SAP Finance Process Ownership

  • Own end-to-end SAP Finance processes including O2C, P2P, R2R, Asset Accounting, Budgeting, AR, AP, GL, Costing, Taxation, MIS Reporting, and Financial Statements.
  • Ensure process standardization, best practices adoption, and alignment with business and statutory requirements.
  • Act as the functional authority for SAP Finance design, configuration, enhancements, and rollouts.

Process stability, audit observations, month-end close timelines, compliance adherence

Business Partnering & Stakeholder Management

  • Engage with senior business stakeholders to understand finance requirements and translate them into scalable SAP solutions. • Lead solution workshops, blueprinting, and design sign-offs.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to Finance leadership on SAP-enabled process improvements.

Stakeholder satisfaction, solution acceptance, reduction in manual interventions.

Governance, Controls & Compliance

  • Establish and monitor ITGC, application controls, and audit readiness for SAP Finance.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and internal audit requirements.
  • Support internal and external audits, including tax, statutory, and SOX (where applicable).

Audit findings, control effectiveness, zero critical compliance breaches

Continuous Improvement & Process Re-engineering

  • Lead brainstorming and design-thinking sessions to identify automation and optimization opportunities.
  • Drive process re-engineering initiatives with clearly defined SOPs and control frameworks.
  • Promote usage of SAP best practices, S/4HANA readiness concepts, and industry benchmarks.

Number of improvements implemented, cycle-time reduction, efficiency gains.

Integration & Architecture Oversight

  • Ensure seamless integration of SAP with surrounding systems (e.g., Tally, SAP B1, HMS, TMS, banking systems, digital signature platforms).
  • Oversee data accuracy, reconciliation, and end-to-end data flow controls.

Integration stability, reconciliation issues, data accuracy levels.

Project & Program Management

  • Lead SAP Finance projects including upgrades, rollouts, enhancements, and new implementations.
  • Manage scope, timelines, budgets, risks, and vendor performance.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional IT and business teams for successful delivery

Project delivery on time and budget, realization of business benefits.

Team Leadership & Capability Building

  • Lead, mentor, and develop SAP Finance functional team members.
  • Plan and conduct functional, advanced, and refresher trainings for internal users and IT teams.
  • Support succession planning and capability maturity of the SAP Finance practice.

Team productivity, training effectiveness, skill coverage.

Vendor & Partner Management

  • Manage relationships with external SAP partners, AMS vendors, and third-party solution providers.
  • Review SLAs, conduct performance reviews, and drive continuous service improvement.

SLA adherence, cost optimization, vendor performance scores.

EXTERNAL INTERACTIONS

SAP implementation and AMS partners

  • Third-party IT product vendors (e.g., Tally, SAP B1, Banking Interfaces, Digital Signature vendors, HMS, TMS)
  • Auditors and regulatory consultants

FINANCIAL DIMENSIONS

Oversight of SAP Finance project budgets and operational support costs. • Impact on financial accuracy, reporting timelines, and compliance outcomes.

OTHER DIMENSIONS

EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS

Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA). • MBA / additional finance or IT certifications preferred.

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

  • ▪ 8–12 years of overall experience, with minimum 6–8 years in SAP Finance and Accounting. ▪ Strong exposure to SAP FI (GL, AP, AR, AA, Bank Accounting) and integration with CO and MM/SD. ▪ Experience in multi-entity, diversified business environments (Infrastructure / Services preferred). ▪ Hands-on experience in SAP projects, enhancements, audits, and finance transformation initiatives. ▪ Exposure to project management methodologies and IT governance frameworks preferred.
