What can you expect?
The Operational Risk Governance team is accountable for delivering a strategic and integrated approach to risk and compliance activity across the Administration Operations team. The team are a key conduit to the Global Risk and Controls, the Line 2 Risk and Compliance team and other key areas and stakeholders for matters relating to Risk and Compliance.
The Controls Analyst is responsible for testing the design operating effectiveness of key controls and process level controls across the Administration Operations and Global Service Delivery (GSD) teams.
They assist stakeholders in identifying potential risks and compliance issues associated with their day-to-day business goals, analysing technology and business risks to identify vulnerabilities and controls gaps. They also coordinate the development, implementation, monitoring, and testing of control frameworks ensuring compliance with industry standards.

We will count on you for:
Technical
Control documentation, maintenance and testing
Conduct testing of key controls and process level controls to assess their design and operating effectiveness.
Identify control deficiencies and provide recommendations for improvement.
Collaborate with stakeholders to develop action plans to address control deficiencies and monitor implementation of improvements.
Risk and compliance support
Assist in the delivery of timely risk management and/or compliance analysis and advice to stakeholders to enable the Administration Operations team to be successful and fully compliant with legislative and regulatory requirements.
Support and advise the Administration Operations team to identify, classify, measure, and monitor their risks and/or compliance requirements and issues.
Assist stakeholders in identifying the potential risks and compliance issues associated with their day-to-day business goals, including assisting in the incident reporting process.
Work with stakeholders to analyse and quantify the impact of items requiring remediation whilst operating within Mercer & MMC’s Risk and Compliance Frameworks
Coordinate the formulation of remediation strategies and implementation of preventative controls, including obtaining relevant approvals.
Support the Operational Risk & Governance Leader in the provision of key reporting requirements, providing insights on operational risk matters such as incident root-causes.
Build strong relationships with the Line 2 Risk team and other Line 1 Risk teams.
Respond to queries from internal stakeholders on risk, compliance, and governance requirements in a timely manner
Lead and Guide

What you need to have:
Knowledge & Skills:
Minimum 6 years’ experience in service industry
Committed to quality service with a strong customer focus and effective stakeholder management.
Demonstrated experience in Risk Management and/or Control Assurance within the financial services industry.
Experience performing control assurance activities
Familiarity with the relevant regulatory bodies and legal compliance requirements of the Australian Superannuation industry (e.g. Corps Act, SIS Act)
Strong and analytical and problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Proven ability to work under tight deadlines and extended hours based on stakeholder requirements
Capable of engaging with all organizational levels and possesses strong communication and influencing skills
Demonstrates sound judgment, timely decision-making, and strong time management abilities.
Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal, problem-solving, and analytical skills
Identify process improvements and apply lean principles to fuel innovation and growth
RG146 certification preferred
Minimum 2 years superannuation administration (Preferred)
Previous experience in an operational risk management and/or compliance role preferred.
