The Manager, Retail Visual Merchandising – Footwear drives the in-store footwear experience across a large retail footprint. This role is responsible for developing and executing visual merchandising strategies that bring product stories to life, elevate brand standards, and drive sales performance. Partnering cross-functionally, this individual translates seasonal priorities, product launches, and marketing initiatives into clear, executable direction for store teams.

Responsibilities

Visual Merchandising Strategy & Execution

  • Develop and deliver clear, actionable visual merchandising directives aligned to seasonal priorities and product strategies
  • Translate marketing campaigns and product stories into compelling in-store experiences
  • Partner cross-functionally to align merchandising direction with business objectives and brand standards
  • Influence fixture, signage, and in-store presentation to enhance storytelling and drive sell-through
  • Support store openings, remodels, and key initiatives to ensure consistent execution

Merchandising & Storytelling

  • Create merchandising briefs that highlight key product moments and drive customer engagement
  • Develop creative, scalable solutions that balance brand storytelling with operational execution
  • Partner with vendors and internal teams to integrate campaigns into the in-store experience
  • Ensure merchandising direction is clear, concise, and executable at scale

Innovation & Standards

  • Identify opportunities to evolve visual merchandising strategies based on customer behavior and business needs
  • Lead testing and innovation of new merchandising concepts and tools
  • Maintain and enhance visual merchandising standards and playbooks
  • Incorporate feedback from field teams to continuously improve execution

Operations & Collaboration

  • Manage in-store print, digital, and fixture requirements, including specifications, quantities, and timelines
  • Drive cross-functional alignment and streamline processes across teams
  • Ensure timely communication and execution of merchandising directives
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in retail visual merchandising or related field
  • Strong understanding of merchandising principles, store operations, and retail environments
  • Experience with design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and 3D rendering tools (e.g., SketchUp)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams)
  • Strong creative, organizational, and project management skills
  • Ability to influence cross-functional partners and drive alignment
  • Experience with print production and basic photography knowledge preferred
  • Comfortable working on Mac systems preferred
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
  • Ability to lift up to 30–40 lbs as needed
