The Manager, Retail Sales Insights & Analytics leads the development of actionable business insights that drive growth across key retail customers. This role manages the Retail Sales Insights Analyst function and serves as a strategic business partner to Customer Vice Presidents, Customer Sales Executives, Category Leadership, and senior commercial leadership.
The Manager is responsible for transforming complex retailer, syndicated, and shopper data into clear business recommendations that influence customer strategy, sales planning, revenue growth, and executive decision-making. This position balances people leadership, analytical excellence, and strategic storytelling to identify growth opportunities, mitigate business risks, and shape customer-facing recommendations.

Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Development
  • Lead, coach, and develop Retail Sales Analysts and other analytical resources.
  • Establish priorities, workload management, and development plans for team members.
  • Build a high-performance culture focused on insight generation, business impact, and customer support.
  • Ensure analytical consistency, quality standards, and best practices across the team.
Strategic Business Partnership
  • Act as the primary insights advisor to Customer Sales Leadership and executive stakeholders.
  • Partner with sales leaders to identify growth opportunities, risks, and strategic priorities.
  • Influence customer strategy through data-driven recommendations.
 
Advanced Analytics & Insight Development
  • Lead the evaluation of sales performance across retailers, categories, brands, and geographies.
  • Identify emerging trends, competitive threats, whitespace opportunities, and market shifts.
  • Develop executive-level narratives that explain performance drivers and recommend actions.
  • Translate complex data into concise, actionable recommendations.

Executive Communication
  • Present business updates and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Prepare executive summaries, insights reports, and strategic business reviews.
  • Simplify complex analytics into concise stories that drive action.

  • Use a combination of feedback and reflection to gain productive insight into personal strengths and weaknesses.
  • Build partnerships and work collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives.
  • Take on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy, and enthusiasm.
  • Understands the business and organizational environment and shows interest in adapting to their culture and ways of working.
 
Education and Work History:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Data Analytics, Statistics, or related field.
  • 2–5+ years of experience in business analytics, category management, sales analytics, or consumer packaged goods (CPG).
  • Experience working with retailer sales data and syndicated datasets preferred (Circana, NielsenIQ, retailer POS data, etc.).
  • Experience supporting customer sales, category management, or revenue growth teams preferred.
 
Qualifications & Technical Skills:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Analytics, Statistics, or related field.
  • 5–10+ years of experience in CPG analytics, category management, sales strategy, customer insights, or commercial analytics.
  • Experience supporting major retail customers and customer-facing sales organizations.
  • Strong understanding of retailer sales data, syndicated data, and customer planning processes.
  • Strong proficiency in data analysis and reporting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working with Circana, NielsenIQ, retailer POS data, or equivalent sources.
  • Ability to connect multiple data sources into meaningful business recommendations.
