It comprises five major operational sections: Epidemiology & Biostatistics, Health Policy & Management, Population & Reproductive Health, Environmental Health & Climate Change, and Non-Communicable Diseases & Mental Health.The Department of Community Health Sciences is seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join its research team as Manager (Research). The position will support research, policy analysis, and knowledge generation activities related to the Global Green Surgery Project, in collaboration with the Global Surgery Unit at the University of Birmingham, UK, as well as other health systems and public health initiatives.This is a grant-funded contractual position.Responsibilities:

You will be responsible to:work with the Global Surgery Unit at the University of Birmingham, UK, to undertake and support literature reviews, evidence synthesis, research analysis, and preparation of research outputs related to the Global Green Surgery Projectconduct structured literature searches, review relevant academic and policy literature, synthesize findings, and identify evidence gaps relevant to global surgery and health systemswork with project country teams to support and lead policy-related activities, including review of relevant policies, strategies, frameworks, and health system structuresmap and analyse the surgical system in Pakistan, including relevant stakeholders, policies, institutions, systems, and networks, using appropriate research and analytical approachesanalyse research findings and translate evidence into concise, accessible, and actionable policy briefs and other knowledge productssupport or undertake media analysis, bibliometric analysis, network analysis, and other relevant analytical activities as required by the projectsupport data preparation, analysis, interpretation, and presentation using appropriate statistical and analytical tools, including SPSS and/or STATAcontribute to the preparation of manuscripts, reports, abstracts, presentations, policy documents, and other academic and research outputsprovide technical and research support to other projects led by the Principal Investigator, including initiatives such as the Lancet Commission on Academic Responsibilitycoordinate and communicate with the University of Birmingham, collaborating country teams, researchers, and other project stakeholders to facilitate research activities and information sharingsupport the preparation and delivery of presentations, project updates, research findings, and policy recommendations for internal and external audiencesmaintain organized research documentation, analytical outputs, literature databases, references, project records, and other relevant materialsensure assigned research activities and outputs follow approved methodologies, project requirements, ethical standards, and applicable institutional research practicessupport planning and monitoring of assigned research activities, identify emerging issues or delays, and communicate progress to the Principal Investigator or relevant project leadfacilitate in translating research evidence into practical recommendations, policy messages, presentations, and other materials suitable for policymakers, researchers, and stakeholderssupport engagement with relevant researchers, policymakers, institutions, professional bodies, and other stakeholders involved in global surgery and health systems researchundertake other research, analytical, technical, documentation, or project-related activities assigned by the Principal Investigator or Head of the Policy & Management Section.

Requirements

You should have:a masters degree in public health or a related discipline with an MBBS degree, or a PhD in Public Health or a relevant field, preferably with specialization in health systems, health management, or a related area at least five year of relevant work experience, preferably in a research or academic settingrelevant experience in public health research, health systems, policy analysis, literature reviews, data analysis, or development of research and policy outputs will be an advantagedemonstratable understanding of research processes and the ability to contribute to academic and policy-oriented outputsstrong academic, technical, and research writing skillsgood understanding of public health, health systems, and policy researchworking knowledge of quantitative research methods and statistical analysisproficiency or working knowledge of statistical software such as SPSS and/or STATAability to conduct literature reviews and critically synthesize evidence from diverse sourcesability to undertake or support policy, media, bibliometric, and network analysesstrong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skillsability to prepare clear, compelling, and evidence-based presentations and written outputsability to work effectively with multidisciplinary, international, and cross-country research teamsstrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlinesattention to detail, analytical thinking, initiative, and commitment to research quality and integrityability to work independently while contributing effectively to a collaborative research environment.Comprehensive employment reference checks will be conducted.
