Job Description

Are you a data-driven strategist with a passion for turning insights into impactful marketing decisions? We are seeking a Manager, Regional Marketing Intelligence to lead the collection, analysis, and interpretation of market, competitor, and customer data across the region. In this role, you will provide actionable insights that inform marketing strategies, optimize campaigns, and support business growth. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will ensure data-driven decision-making and deliver measurable results that enhance regional marketing effectiveness.



The Manager, Regional Marketing Intelligence, is responsible for shaping the organisation’s understanding of customer needs, market dynamics and competitive forces across multiple territories. This individual will be a key contributor in product development forums, strategic planning exercises, and customer experience initiatives, representing the voice of the market and ensuring decisions are grounded in robust insight. This role ensures that the business has a deep, consistent understanding of customer behaviours, preferences, and needs, as well as broader market, competitor, and regulatory trends.

Unlike traditional management roles, the Manager, Regional Marketing Intelligence does not directly supervise staff. Instead, they provide strategic leadership through frameworks, governance, and influence, working closely with Market Research Officers in each territory. By establishing standards, guiding methodologies, and consolidating insights into a regional view, the Manager, Regional Marketing Intelligence ensures that local execution is aligned and that insights directly inform product development, marketing, distribution, and customer experience strategies.

This is a highly strategic, integrative role, combining technical expertise, and the ability to influence senior decision-makers, while also executing key research initiatives of regional importance.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Market & Customer Insight Leadership

• Define and lead the regional marketing intelligence agenda, ensuring the organisation has a comprehensive and forward-looking view of customer behaviours, emerging needs and evolving market dynamics.

• Champion the “voice of the customer” in product development forums, strategic planning sessions and customer experience initiatives.

• Anticipate and interpret macroeconomic, regulatory, and competitor trends, translating them into actionable insights for leadership teams.

Strategic Business Partnering

• Act as a trusted advisor to senior executives, contributing insight-driven perspectives that shape corporate strategy, product portfolio evolution, distribution and digital transformation.

• Partner with Product Development, Advanced Analytics, Sales and Customer Experience leaders to ensure decisions are grounded in rigorous data and market understanding.

• Influence and align cross-functional priorities by presenting evidence-based recommendations at management and board-level forums.

Regional Governance & Frameworks

• Establish standards, governance models and best practices for market research across multiple territories to ensure consistency and comparability of insights.

• Provide thought leadership, guidance and coaching to Market Research Officers across the region, empowering them to execute local studies with rigour and relevance.

• Consolidate country-level intelligence into a regional perspective, highlighting risks, opportunities, and growth themes across markets.

Execution of High-Impact Research

• Design and lead strategic, cross-market research initiatives that address critical business questions of regional importance.

• Oversee the selection and management of research methodologies, tools and external partners to ensure robust and cost-effective delivery.

• Synthesise complex data into clear, compelling narratives and executive-ready reports that drive decision-making.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement

• Continuously evaluate and upgrade research frameworks, ensuring relevance in an evolving digital and data-driven environment.

• Benchmark the organisation’s practices against global and regional best standards, ensuring thought leadership within the insurance and financial services sectors.

Stakeholder Engagement & Advocacy

• Represent the Marketing Intelligence function in senior-level discussions, advocating for customer-centric and market-informed strategies.

• Build collaborative relationships with regional and local leadership teams, ensuring intelligence is embedded into planning and execution.

• Promote a culture of insight-driven decision-making across the organisation, positioning marketing intelligence as a strategic enabler of growth.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, Data Analytics or a related field from a recognised tertiary level educational institution.

• Master’s degree (MBA, MSc in Marketing, Data Analytics, or related discipline) strongly preferred, with emphasis on strategy, market research, or consumer insights, from a recognised tertiary level education institution

• Professional certifications in Market Research

• Minimum of eight (8) years’ experience in a branding, marketing and communications role, with at least five (5) years in a market research and intelligence managerial position.

• Experience in providing strategic advice to senior-level leaders.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT:

As a regulated entity with obligations under the Know Your Employee guidelines, a Certificate of Character is required.

The Manager, Regional Marketing Intelligence must demonstrate strong expertise in market research, competitive intelligence, and strategic insight generation. He/She must possess the ability to influence decisions at senior levels and align diverse market inputs into a unified regional perspective. This role requires agility in responding to shifting customer behaviours and market dynamics, with a capacity to anticipate trends and translate them into actionable strategies. He/She must be able to collaborate across territories without direct authority, guiding and aligning research activities to achieve strategic objectives. The individual must be proactive, analytical, and resourceful, with exceptional communication skills to clearly articulate insights that drive business growth. Flexibility, critical thinking, and a results-oriented mindset are essential to thrive in this fast-paced and evolving environment.
