About Department
St. George’s Health Service (SGHS) is part of St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne and is located in Kew. SGHS provides a comprehensive aged care service consisting of Sub Acute Care wards, Rehabilitation, Geriatric Evaluation and Management (GEM), Transition Care, Restorative Care and Acute Inpatient Aged Psychiatry. St George’s Health Service also provides multiple outpatient and community services. The St George’s Health Service campus works in collaboration with four Residential Facilities within SVHM.

About the Role
The Reception Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the front of house, switchboard and cashiering functions of St George’s Health Service in accordance with the objectives and policies of St Vincent’s.

The classification for this position will be HS3 - HS25 ($74,760.40 - $82,305.60 per annum).

Duties
Reception- including managing the operation of St George’s site switchboard and paging system; redirecting all incoming and outgoing calls and leading troubleshooting when required

Finance - including liaising with Finance on behalf of wards, patients and residents in relation to invoice queries, patient trust, petty cash, bond payments and reimbursements and deceased estates

Communications- including coordination of communications and events for St George’s site in conjunction with Operations Manger and General Manager for external and internal parties.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Experience in Switchboard/Customer Service/Call Centre Operations
  • Experience in budget planning/preparation/implementation/management
  • Highly competent computer skills including Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a team
  • Experience in Receipting/Accounts

The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) has been providing outstanding care for Victoria's children and their families for over 147 years.

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.

With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff campus wide of over 5,000, we provide a full range of clinical services, tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people.

We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.
