Job Description

For more than 20 years, KordaMentha has supported businesses through some of their most complex matters and opportunities. Founder owned and led; we are an advisory firm that helps corporations, financiers, lawyers, private investors and government clients to grow, protect and recover value.

That’s what we do, but it’s how we do this that makes us who we are.

Proudly independent, strategically local, and with a bias for action to get things done, we focus on doing what is right by our clients, our people, and the wider community. Our track record shows that we help navigate the best path forward in challenging times, and do so across cities, regions and territories.

In the most stressful or demanding environments, we continue to drive change where it really counts.

KordaMentha’s Real Estate Advisory team provides independent, outcomes-focused advice across the full real estate lifecycle, supporting clients through some of their most significant and complex property decisions. The team works across high-value assets, sensitive stakeholder environments, matters under public scrutiny and engagements with material financial implications.

The practice advises private, institutional and government clients across all asset classes, with services spanning transaction and deal advisory, asset and development strategy, and implementation and delivery. A key differentiator is the team’s focus on outcomes — not just reports — by working alongside clients to execute strategies and manage delivery risk.

This role sits within a nationally integrated real estate advisory platform and forms part of the broader KordaMentha group, providing access to deep multidisciplinary capability and trusted senior relationships across Australia and New Zealand.

We are seeking an experienced Manager to join KordaMentha’s Real Estate Advisory team. In this role, you will be a key contributor to high-impact engagements, delivering commercial advice across both private and public sector clients, with a particular focus on lender and government-related work.

You will work across the full project lifecycle, from early-stage feasibility analysis and project review through to project delivery, and collaborate across multiple service lines, including Restructuring, Public Sector Advisory and Major Projects Advisory.

For the successful candidate, this role offers broad exposure and genuine variety, including the opportunity to work alongside senior executives, government and lenders on high-value, high-impact projects across a range of asset classes, client types and delivery models.

As a Manager in the team, you will:

  • Lead delivery of real estate advisory engagements, managing workstreams and aligning outputs with client commercial, policy and governance objectives.
  • Oversee due diligence and market analysis across assets and portfolios, providing clear, evidence-based insights.
  • Develop and review financial models and feasibility analyses, ensuring robustness of assumptions and clarity of key risks and value drivers.
  • Support and manage transaction processes across acquisitions, disposals and developments, including strategy, evaluation and stakeholder coordination.
  • Lead or contribute to lender-led and asset repositioning engagements, including restructuring and value recovery strategies.
  • Prepare business cases and investment papers, integrating financial, commercial and policy considerations into decision-ready recommendations.
  • Deliver high-quality reports, models and presentations tailored to senior stakeholders across government, finance and corporate sectors.
  • Build client relationships and support team leadership, including mentoring junior staff and contributing to proposals and business development.

Qualifications

We’re looking for a commercially minded advisory professional who combines strong technical capability with sound judgement, stakeholder confidence and a collaborative approach. You will likely bring:

  • 5–6 years’ relevant experience in the private sector or government, for example within consulting, advisory, professional services, government infrastructure teams, treasury or investment banking.
  • Tertiary qualifications in property, commerce, finance, economics or a related discipline.
  • Strong analytical and financial modelling capability, with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • High-level PowerPoint skills, with the ability to develop clear, structured and compelling presentations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and perform effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
