Job Responsibility
Quality Assurance & Control Establish and implement Quality Management Systems (QMS) as per ISO 9001/ IATF 16949.Monitor and control product quality, ensuring compliance with IS/ ASTM/ JIS/ EN standards. Conduct incoming, in-process, and final inspections of cold-rolled and processed steel products. Implement and improve Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Six Sigma methodologies
Process Improvement & Compliance: Develop and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for quality assurance. Identify and resolve quality deviations using Root Cause Analysis (RCA) & CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions). Work closely with production and maintenance teams to improve process reliability. Conduct regular internal audits and support external audits by customers and certification bodies.
Customer & Supplier Quality Management Address customer complaints through effective resolution and preventive measures. Implement Customer Quality Assurance (CQA) programs for enhanced satisfaction. Develop and maintain supplier quality assessment systems to ensure raw material compliance.
Testing & Laboratory Management: Oversee mechanical, chemical, and metallurgical testing of steel products. Maintain calibration and accuracy of testing equipment (UTM, hardness tester, spectrometer, etc.).
Training & Team Management: Train and develop the Quality Control team on quality standards and best practices. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and quality consciousness.
Knowledge, skills and experience (Minimum level)
Educational qualifications
B.E. / B.Tech. in Metallurgy / Mechanical , or Industrial Engineering
