- Deliver independent Quality Assurance, Checking, reviews across On boarding/KYC, screening (Sanctions, PEP, Adverse Media), client outreach, due diligence reviews, Client outreach, customer risk assessments, transaction monitoring performed by internal in-house 1 LoD financial crime operation teams and Third‑Party (TPAs) ensuring accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance.
- Implement, maintain QA sampling methodologies and control testing frameworks across 1LoD Asset Management Financial Crime operations and TPAs, ensuring consistent application of standards, aligned with Group GRC, Financial Crime standards, and applicable regulatory expectations.
- Identify control weaknesses, quality issues, thematic trends, and root causes from QA, assurance, and audit activity; deliver actionable recommendations to reduce risk and improve quality and efficiency.
- Own remediation of 1LoD Financial Crime issues arising from QA reviews, assurance activity, audits, and control testing, ensuring timely escalation and closure.
- Provide governance and ongoing QA oversight of TPAs, including feedback, issue tracking, and remediation assurance.
- Produce concise, insightful QA reporting and MI.
- Provide training to 1LoD Financial crime teams conducting in scope FC activities where knowledge gaps are identified. Support creation/review of operating desktop manuals, procedures.
- Support internal/external audit reviews (as & when)
Knowledge & Skills:
- Proven experience in AML, KYC, Client, distributor onboarding, due diligence, PR activities within Asset Management or Asset Servicing / Financial Services space. (Essential)
- Hands‑on experience in onboarding complex entity types such as funds, trusts, SPVs, regulated entities, structures (Essential)
- Exposure in determining risk exposure in complex ownership structures in accordance to applicable AML/KYC standards/requirements. (Essential)
- Strong knowledge of screening (Sanctions, PEP, Adverse Media) and due diligence reviews, Transaction monitoring activities. (Essential)
- Comes with Quality Assurance / Quality Checker experience, delivering accurate, high‑quality outcomes. (Essential)
- Strong analytical and investigative mindset with attention to detail; assess risk, review and interpret regulation; apply constructive challenge and deliver balanced, credible feedback. (Essential)
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels. (Essential)
- High levels of ownership, accountability, ability to multitask. (Essential)
- Understanding of the Asset Management lifecycle and structures (e.g. funds, UCITS, AIFs, distributors, Fund clients, Pvt/Public markets, Segregated Mandates etc.). (Preferred)
- Working knowledge of AML,KYC tools workflows (e.g., Actimize, World check, Lexis Nexis, Fenergo, AWD Fast). (Preferred)
- Experience in producing MI, reports, or dashboards (Excel essential; Power BI an advantage). (Preferred)
Experience
- Overall Minimum 6–8 years’ experience in Financial Crime Operations or Compliance, including 4+ years in Quality Checking, Control / Quality Assurance within Asset Management, Asset Servicing, or Financial Services.
- Experience within assurance planning and execution, including sampling methodologies/testing, issue identification, and root‑cause in Financial crime operations space.
- Good understanding of the regulated financial services landscape and how businesses such as M&G operate within it.
- Self‑motivated, proactive, analytical, and resilient, with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Good analytical skills with the ability to review and interpret rules and regulations.
Educational Qualification:
- Graduate degree in Science, Commerce, Management, Business Administration, or Law (e.g. BSc, BCom, BMS, BBA, LLB).
- Professional certifications such as ICA qualifications or CAMS are desirable.
- Strong working knowledge of UK and EU AML/FCC regulations, with practical application experience within KYC/AML spectrum Asset Management or Asset Servicing/Investment Banking environments.
