Job Title: Manager – Quality Assurance
Department: Quality Assurance
Reports to: Manager – Operations
Location: Varennes Integrated Biorefinery – Distillery

Greenfield is seeking a Manager – Quality Assurance to ensure the compliance, rigor, and overall performance of its quality activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage human resources activities and workforce management within the department under their responsibility;
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives and technical activities aligned with the business plan;
• Coordinate the day-to-day operations of the Quality Assurance department;
• Respond to and be accountable for ISO 9001 quality management system audits;
• Be responsible for quality control of finished products (denatured ethanol, distillers grains and corn oil, and other products manufactured at the plant);
• Communicate quality- and inventory-related data to relevant stakeholders;
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with customers;
• Provide guidance and expertise in quality assurance matters;
• Support technologists in the analysis of in-process and finished products;
• Prepare and publish laboratory analysis reports;
• Contribute to anticipating and resolving issues through technical expertise;
• Support the training and development of departmental employees;
• Participate as a member of the management team and contribute to setting departmental objectives;
• Participate in the development of the management team;
• Promote the importance of the company’s values and code of conduct;
• Support the collection of data related to Canada Customs and Excise regulations;
• Coordinate laboratory R&D activities in collaboration with the Business Unit’s Innovation department;
• Be responsible for the application of departmental change management protocols.

Job Requirements:

• Mobilize and lead a technical team with credible, results-oriented leadership;
• Ensure consistent and rigorous application of quality standards, maintaining alignment with ISO requirements and regulatory frameworks;
• Drive continuous improvement of Quality Assurance processes, practices, and standards;
• Analyze data and performance indicators to identify gaps and support decision-making;
• Clearly communicate technical information to internal teams, management, and external stakeholders;
• Effectively plan, structure, and coordinate daily Quality Assurance activities;
• Develop and maintain trusted relationships with customers, internal teams, and partners;
• Comply with and act in accordance with applicable laws and regulations governing programs and procedures related to:
• Occupational health and safety;
• The quality system and requirements specific to the Varennes distillery;
• The environmental management system, with a focus on fostering individual environmental awareness in daily tasks and actions.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience in a similar role;
• Experience in people management;
• University degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, biochemistry, or equivalent;
• Membership in the Order of Chemists considered an asset.
