About the Role

This a pivotal role that will play a key role in the securing the stability and profitability of Raja’s future. With responsibility for the sales and profitability performance of the category across Raja Office, you will deliver best in class purchasing conditions and create and lead, strategic category visions.

The main purpose of the job is to serve as the assortment and vendor owner for a range of European and Local vendors for both OEM and own-brand products within a specific product category. This role involves developing and implementing strategies to maximize profitability by optimising the product assortment, securing the best purchasing conditions and ensuring the market-relevant and profitable selling prices. Responsibilities include defining assortment and vendor strategies, negotiating contracts and optimizing product offerings. The role also entails managing contractual agreements, vendor performance, product lifecycles and pricing strategies.

What You Will Do

  • Define and lead the category and assortment strategy, designing how Raja will differentiate and win in the categories that you lead.
  • Develop the vendor and sourcing strategy for your assortment, including cost/margin improvement, external market influences on cost, own brand sourcing and rebates.
  • Negotiation of all purchasing conditions (contract T&C, programmes, pricing) to optimise profitability and manage cash flow.
  • Manage selling prices in line with the pricing strategy and each country’s price position
  • Within this assortment, develop the Office common range through product management, vendor strategy, negotiation, product price positioning, logistics follow-up and close liaison with local purchasing teams.
  • Develop and source the own brand assortment, defining the products, tender cycles, vendor selection and negotiation.
  • Provide relevant market insights linked to vendors and cost developments, forecasting future cost to enable stakeholders to manage any commercial impact.
  • Manage vendor performance in line with contractual agreements and ensure central vendor rebates are well monitored and optimised.
  • Ensure effective category analysis, reviews and action cycles are in place across all key categories.
  • Overall forecast, demand and availability across all Raja Office markets in conjunction with Supply-Chain.
  • Support Raja’s internal key accounts team with product/market related expertise & facilitating of negotiations with major contract customers.

Required knowledge

  • Successful relevant higher vocational degree
  • At least 5 years’ experience in sourcing, purchasing, category management in a similar position or in a procurement role with an international B2B/retail company.

Required Skills & competencies

  • Strong purchasing and negotiating capabilities, with the ability to secure optimal commercial conditions.
  • Demonstrated influencing skills, enabling effective collaboration and alignment with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong commercial and analytical mindset, capable of turning data‑driven insights into actionable opportunities.
  • Proven track record in assortment and vendor management, with the ability to develop and execute successful sourcing and purchasing strategies that drive sales and profitability.
  • High level of persistence and resilience, consistently driving initiatives to completion and overcoming challenges to achieve outstanding results.
  • Solid project management skills, with the ability to organize, prioritize and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Fluent knowledge of English, both spoken and written; additional language skills (Dutch or German) are a distinct advantage.
  • Driven, results‑oriented and committed to delivering best practices while thriving in a pressured and dynamic environment.
