Where You Will Work   

Our global headquarters is in Phoenix, Arizona. Several hundred employees support our operations in finance, human resources, health and safety, information technology, planning and more. This position requires work to be performed in-person at our Bagdad, AZ location and occationally at the Collaboration Hub in Phoenix. The Hub provides an open, flexible workspace for individuals and teams to come together for various business needs. Amenities at the Hub include a working café, phone booths and meeting rooms with technology tools for virtual and in-person collaboration.

What You Will Do

This position will be based in the following location: Bagdad based with expected travel to support other FMI locations. Travel frequency dependent on business needs.

Lead and oversee the global execution of capital project materials management activities, including materials storage, receipt, issuance, procurement, inventory control, container management, and requirements planning. Ensure consistent processes and standards across projects while directing project materials teams to achieve safety, scope, cost, and schedule objectives. Establishes tactical and strategic goals, objectives, policies and procedures.

• Collaborate in the development of project Materials Execution Plans, defining project-specific strategies, processes, resource requirements, and staffing needs.
• Develop and maintain standardized material status reporting to provide accurate, timely visibility into project materials performance and requirements.
• Support the planning and execution of logistics activities for capital projects, including packaging, inspections, transportation, and delivery of capital equipment and materials.
• Design and implement material tracking and control systems that enhance project efficiency, visibility, and execution performance.
• Partner with Global Supply Chain leaders to ensure compliance with site requirements and optimize the utilization of materials, resources, and personnel across projects.
• Ensure critical project materials and supplies are stored, managed, and issued accurately, safely, and in accordance with project and operational requirements.
• Lead and evaluate the performance of project materials teams, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and communicating recommendations to project leadership.
• Oversee the accuracy and effectiveness of materials management system interfaces, including receiving, storage, and issuance processes, to ensure compliance and maintain inventory integrity.
• Perform other duties as required.

What You Bring To Freeport

• High School diploma or GED and fourteen (14) years experience in inventory management, systems & project management and analysis projects required, OR
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related discipline and ten (10) years combined experience in inventory management, system & project management and analysis projects required, OR
• Master’s degree in Business, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related discipline and eight (8) years combined experience in inventory management, system & project management and analysis projects required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experienced in warehouse management, laydown yard development, material receiving, OS&D reporting, and the efficient placement and organization of materials to maximize project storage space and support construction activities.
• Working experience with construction teams and contractors to support effective coordination, communication, and successful project execution.
• Working knowledge of various pipe types, specifications, and handling requirements, with the ability to support material management and construction activities on pipeline projects.

What We Offer You

The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $112,000-$160,000. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional incentive compensation considerations based on company and individual performance.  Additionally, this position is currently eligible for annual long-term incentive consideration.  Long-term incentives are contingent upon authorized approval under the terms and conditions of the Company's plan and award agreements.  More details will be shared during the hiring process.

What We Require

Freeport-McMoRan promotes a drug/alcohol-free work environment using mandatory pre-employment drug testing as allowed by applicable laws. 

Based in Bagdad, Arizona, this position supports operations in partnership with the Phoenix Corporate Office. Regular onsite attendance at the Bagdad operation is required Monday through Friday.

The role requires frequent travel to company sites and may include occasional international travel to Canada. Travel frequency will vary based on operational and business needs.
