POSITION

This will be a key role in our company-wide program office that supports the expansion of our shared services offerings to Thermo Fisher businesses. The Manager, Project Management will lead the execution of transition, migration, process improvement, automation, system implementations and other change and transformation programs and ensure successful program delivery. They will be responsible for running the project activities and supervising critical program milestones. The job holder will collaborate with a wide range of partners within and outside Global Business Services, ensuring an integrated approach.

MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Supports to lead cross-functional, geographically distributed project teams, to achieve desired outcomes
  • Collaborates with horizontal workstreams to address interdependencies, lead project governance bodies and project workstreams
  • Liaises with key stakeholders to ensure timely and quality program implementation across workstreams and businesses
  • Support ideation sessions, feasibility studies, process assessments and design workshops to translate customer requirements into the future state
  • Prepares and maintains complex project plans, defines deliverables and owners, checks resource requirements, seeks for resources
  • Conduct periodic project plan assessments, including milestone and deliverables reviews to ensure readiness and quality of the projects
  • Leads and executes assigned projects or defined areas of complex projects (business transformations, automations, system implementations, migrations, transitions, process reengineering, etc),
  • Drives project requirements, deliverables and progress throughout the project’s lifecycle with Business, Operational teams, IT and any other functions.
  • Employs fit-for-purpose methodologies to ensure timely completion of deliverables and milestones to achieve project scope in a timely manner, with quality and within budget.
  • Identifies and handles risks, issues, actions, decisions and interdependencies, proactively engages stakeholders in the escalation process in case of critical issues and drives to find mitigation strategies.
  • Manages critical path processes related to project delivery
  • Gathers project information through regular project cadences, documents and communicates project status, results and barriers of project execution, track milestones to ensure timely completion
  • Responsible for regular reporting cadences, ensure clear communication of project outcomes (risks, issues, actions, and decisions), lead functional updates, support Steering Committee discussions
  • Manages project changes and interventions to keep the portfolio on track, acts as single source of truth for the overall health and savings pipeline
  • Mentoring and coaching assigned team / project members
  • Creates a culture of excellence in line with our Thermo Fisher Value within the wider Business development organization

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably business related
  • Project Management certification (PMP, Prince2, Agile, etc) highly desirable
  • 5+ years of solid experience managing complex, global programs and project initiatives
  • Experience in Finance operations (OTC, PTP, FA, Inventory) or Customer Service is preferred
  • GBS experience is highly desirable
  • Experience in Agile project management is an advantage
  • Proficiency in English (verbal and written)

  • Robust project management skills and capabilities (planning tools, defining deliverables, business case and baseline development)
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully leading complex, multidimensional projects
  • Ability to work independently, within a team, and collaboratively across teams
  • Capable of prioritizing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously, efficient in time management
  • Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills across all levels of the organization
  • Sound workshop facilitation skills, including the ability to deliver difficult or intricate messages in a measured and clear manner
  • Good communicator and can also practice active listening
  • Can efficiently cope with change and can comfortably look after risk and uncertainties
  • Have interpersonal savvy, good negotiating skills, resolving issues and the ability to learn on the fly
