Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Program Manager 3 to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals within the Research and Advanced Design (RAD) division. This leadership role will be in Redondo Beach, CA

As the Program Manager in the Advanced Weapons portfolio, you will be responsible for leading program capture, program execution, and related NCTA and planning activities focused on weapon design and development integrated across NG. This role requires a high degree of design/build/prototype/produce technical acumen, strategic foresight, and leadership experience in executing development programs.

You will lead a cross-functional team of engineers, operational analysts, system engineers, business management, business development, and other key stakeholders in a fast-paced environment that demands innovation, flexibility, and accountability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and manage work supporting programs across the Northrop Grumman enterprise, including: design, analysis, hardware and software development, test, requirement development verification and validation, manufacturing, production engineering operations, and sustainment.
  • Shape and lead capture efforts that grow new business opportunities.
  • Develop solutions aligned with Northrop Grumman’s Digital Engineering thread, Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), and Agile development practices.
  • Serve as the interface to other NG sectors and government program offices.
  • Collaborate closely with internal functional partners including Engineering, Contracts, Supply Chain, Quality, Security, and Business Management.
  • Proactively manage risk, opportunities, and program milestones to ensure program performance within cost, schedule, and technical performance targets.
  • Champion mission success and customer satisfaction by fostering a culture of operational excellence and accountability across the program team.
  • Interface with executive leadership and contribute to strategic planning and long-term capability development.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of related professional/military experience, OR a Master’s degree and 8 years of related professional/military experience.
  • 5 years experience in a program, IPT, or project leadership role.
  • Experience managing cost, schedule, and technical performance on defense programs.
  • Program management experience.
  • Understanding of weapons and weapon subsystems.
  • Demonstrated experience leading rapid development or programs that included hardware deliverables.
  • Must have an active U.S. Government Secret (or higher) clearance (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • STEM degree
  • Active U.S Government Top Secret clearance
  • Weapon program of record PM experience
  • Strong knowledge of Northrop Grumman’s Digital Engineering thread, Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), and Agile development practices in support of weapon systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of missile / weapon systems, propulsion, subsystems, WOSA, and testing.
  • Experience with Northrop Grumman PM tools and processes.
  • Experience working with DoD weapon customers.
  • Knowledge of USG weapon customers and stakeholders
  • Master’s or higher degree in Engineering, Systems Management, or MBA.
  • Active SAP and SCI clearances.

Primary Level Salary Range: $193,000.00 - $289,600.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
