The Manager, Program Commercialization & Growth turns Nexeo Plastics’ business priorities, supplier initiatives, customer insights and digital capabilities into market-facing programs that drive customer action and measurable growth.

This role owns program strategy, commercialization, adoption and performance across the full customer lifecycle. Working across Marketing, Digital/eCommerce, Sales, Product Line Management and Customer Experience, the manager moves each program from business case through launch, measurement and optimization.

Functional teams keep ownership of platform development and day-to-day Marketing execution. This role connects those capabilities into one coordinated commercial plan and is accountable for the overall program outcome.

Position Responsibilities

Commercial Program Strategy and Activation

  • Translate company, supplier, portfolio and end-market priorities into actionable commercial programs.
  • Define the business opportunity, target audience, desired customer behavior and expected financial outcome for each program.
  • Develop program briefs, business cases, operating requirements and launch plans.
  • Prioritize initiatives based on customer value, growth potential, profitability and organizational readiness.

Customer Adoption, Retention and Growth

  • Build customer segmentation and targeting plans using purchase history, digital behavior and commercial potential.
  • Map customer journeys to find opportunities to improve adoption, retention, repeat purchasing and share of wallet.
  • Develop programs that drive customer registration, first purchase, continued engagement and expanded use of Nexeo’s products and services.
  • Monitor customer participation and remove barriers to adoption and growth.

Sales and Commercial Enablement

  • Turn programs into practical Sales plays with target accounts, customer needs, value propositions and clear next actions.
  • Develop Sales playbooks, training plans, talk tracks and field-activation cadences.
  • Partner with Sales leadership to build programs into account planning and operating reviews.
  • Set clear lead-routing, follow-up and accountability expectations across Account Managers, SDRs, Inside Sales and Customer Experience.

Measurement and Optimization

  • Define program KPIs, baselines, targets and reporting requirements before launch.
  • Partner with Finance, Sales Operations and Analytics to validate program economics and measurement methods.
  • Lead recurring performance reviews covering adoption, pipeline, incremental sales, pounds, gross margin, retention and operational efficiency.
  • Recommend whether to improve, expand, pause or discontinue programs based on results.

Cross-Functional Program Leadership

  • Lead cross-functional teams through program development, launch and optimization.
  • Establish roles, decision rights, dependencies and escalation paths through a clear RACI.
  • Coordinate Marketing, Digital/eCommerce, Sales, Product Line Management, Finance, Legal, Customer Experience and IT.
  • Communicate program progress, results, risks and recommendations to leadership.

Measures of Success

Performance in this role is measured by:

  • Customer adoption, participation and digital engagement
  • Qualified opportunities, pipeline and lead conversion
  • Incremental sales, pounds and gross margin
  • Customer retention, repeat purchasing and share-of-wallet growth
  • Program ROI, speed to market and Sales participation

Minimum Requirements (Education, Experience & Skills)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Commercial Strategy or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in B2B marketing, commercial program management, customer growth or Sales enablement
  • Proven experience translating business priorities into customer-facing programs
  • Strong understanding of customer segmentation, lifecycle marketing and commercial activation
  • Experience leading cross-functional programs without direct authority over all participants
  • Ability to build business cases, set KPIs and interpret commercial-performance data
  • Strong project-management, communication and stakeholder-management skills
  • Working knowledge of CRM, marketing automation, eCommerce and analytics platforms

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience in distribution, manufacturing, chemicals or plastics
