This position serves as the Functional Manager 2 for the Major Sub System Cell and Integration in Chandler, AZ. The role is responsible for overseeing all bench labor operations, thereby ensuring project deliverables are met with efficiency and precision. Key responsibilities include resource management, employee development, process optimization, and collaboration across teams to meet program requirements and uphold production quality standards. This position plays a critical role in driving operational excellence and alignment with organizational goals.
In this role you will:
Serve as the primary manufacturing liaison to Program Management, developing and executing manufacturing strategies that support program objectives.
Lead cross-functional execution across Product Development, Manufacturing, Test, Global Supply Chain, and Mission Assurance to ensure successful program performance.
Act as the primary operations liaison to internal and external customers, leading program reviews and communicating technical, cost, schedule, and operational performance.
Oversees and manages manufacturing, production, test, supply chain, and quality activities to ensure products are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
Assess technical and programmatic issues, develop corrective action plans, and drive timely resolution to achieve productivity, quality, cost, and schedule objectives.
Monitor program performance, identify risks and opportunities, and implement proactive mitigation strategies to ensure successful program execution.
Partner with Program Management, Engineering, Suppliers, Manufacturing leadership, and customers to resolve complex issues and maintain program alignment.
Lead the preparation of manufacturing proposals, including development and review of Manufacturing Basis of Estimate (BOE) documentation.
Develop and manage integrated production schedules, coordinating material planning, manufacturing execution, and product delivery.
Champion continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational efficiency, manufacturing performance, and customer satisfaction.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Business, Operations Management, or a related STEM discipline with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree with a minimum of 6years of relevant experience.
Experience leading cross-functional teams in a manufacturing or production environment.
Experience managing manufacturing, production, operations, or integrated product teams throughout the product lifecycle.
Experience with manufacturing planning, production scheduling, and material planning.
Experience developing or supporting proposals, including Basis of Estimate (BOE) development.
Demonstrated ability to identify risks, solve complex technical and programmatic issues, and drive corrective actions.
Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence stakeholders across multiple organizations.
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance (or active clearance, if required).
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in the aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated manufacturing industries.
Experience leading manufacturing execution for development, production, or sustainment programs.
Knowledge of Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and Earned Value Management (EVM) principles.
Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar manufacturing planning tools.
Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) programs and working with government customers.
Active DoD Secret or Top Secret security clearance.
Project Management Professional (PMP), Lean Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt, or similar professional certification.
Primary Level Salary Range: $126,600.00 - $189,800.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
