Ashland has an exciting opportunity for a Manager Product Stewardship to join our ( Ashland LLC, Specialty ingredients G.P., ISP Chemicals etc) business at our Hyderabad Office. This is a very visible, significant role within the Company and the Product Stewardship function. This position will report to Manager Product Safety and Regulatory Affairs (South Asia)

Manager EHS Product Safety

  • Lead global product safety and regulatory compliance across GHS, REACH, CLP, OSHA, and Chemical inventory frameworks.
  • Oversee end-to-end SDS lifecycle management, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and audit readiness.
  • Manage and optimize SAP EHS (Product Safety, DG, Label Management) systems.
  • Drive regulatory implementation initiatives including PCN/UFI submissions and region-specific compliance.
  • Perform and review hazard classification and labeling in line with GHS standards.
  • Ensure compliance with Dangerous Goods regulations (ADR, IATA, IMDG, 49 CFR).
  • Lead SDS authoring, review, and approval processes across global markets.
  • Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for product safety workflows.
  • Drive process improvement and automation initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce manual effort.
  • Support SAP EHS rollouts, upgrades, and data migration from legacy systems.
  • Collaborate with R&D, supply chain, regulatory, IT, and commercial teams for compliance integration.
  • Provide regulatory guidance during New Product Introduction (NPI) and commercialization stages.
  • Manage audit readiness, compliance reviews, and corrective action plans.
  • Lead and mentor teams, ensuring capability development and knowledge sharing.
  • Monitor and improve KPIs such as SDS quality, turnaround time, compliance adherence, and system efficiency.
  • Support eSDS generation process for Ashland products placed on EU market.

Education/Experience:

  • Graduate or post Graduate (Science – Chemical engineering, BSc Chemistry, B Pharma, MSc Chemistry, M Pharma)
  • 15+ years of experience in MSDS authoring
  • 10+ years of experience managing groups

Technical Competencies (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)

Skills:

  • Expertise in GHS classification and global chemical regulations (REACH, CLP, OSHA,)
  • Strong experience in SDS authoring, review, and lifecycle management
  • Hands-on knowledge of SAP EHS ECC (Product Safety, DG, Label Management)
  • Proficiency in Dangerous Goods classification (ADR, IATA, IMDG)
  • Ability to interpret and implement regulatory compliance requirements
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for compliance and system issues
  • Experience in process improvement, SOP development, and audit readiness
  • Effective stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration
  • Proven team leadership and mentoring capabilities
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
  • Good to have S4Hana experience.
