Job Description

Toromont is looking for a Manager, Product Management (eCommerce) to join our team. The Manager, Product Management (eCommerce) is responsible for defining, designing, integrating, and growing Toromont’s portfolio of customer-facing eCommerce platforms. The role partners closely with Business Units, Marketing, IT, and Caterpillar to develop strategies, deliver solutions, and drive adoption, usage, and measurable business value across digital and eCommerce channels.

$86,265.00-$106,580.00

The listed base salary is just one component of our total rewards package, and performance-based or discretionary bonuses may be available.

In a typical day, YOU will:

  • Own the product strategy, roadmap, and ongoing optimization for Toromont’s eCommerce platforms, including parts.cat.com, Cat Integrated Procurement (CIP), TEquip Used Marketplace, and shop.cat.com.
  • Partner with Business Units to develop and execute eCommerce adoption strategies, including onboarding plans, customer targeting, enablement materials, and process integration.
  • Work closely with Marketing to design, launch, and measure digital and eCommerce marketing campaigns that drive awareness, traffic, and conversion across platforms.
  • Monitor eCommerce performance metrics (e.g., adoption, revenue contribution, frequency of use, customer engagement) and identify opportunities to drive sustained growth.
  • Actively promote internal awareness and alignment on eCommerce capabilities, value propositions, and roadmap through regular communication with Business Units, Sales, Marketing, and Leadership.
  • Identify and prioritize enhancements to improve customer experience, conversion, and operational efficiency across eCommerce solutions.
  • Coordinate with Caterpillar, IT, and internal stakeholders to align platform capabilities, integrations, and go‑live plans with business objectives.
  • Monitor Caterpillar’s digital portfolio roadmap through participation in regular webinars.
  • Establish relationships with key product owners at Caterpillar.
  • Evaluate scope of Caterpillar digital products (current and planned) and identify integration opportunities and gaps.
  • Identify integration requirements (infrastructure, data, process flow and user administration).
  • Work with IT to design required integrations in line with established go-live plans.
  • Coordinate technical and functional testing of Cat solutions within Toromont’s environment with Digital Product Analysts and IT.
  • Provide technical/functional signoff of solutions.
  • Develop and manage Toromont’s eCommerce solution roadmap based on evolving business requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize portfolio, balancing evolution of capabilities with overall operating cost and investment.
  • Leverage common solution capabilities across Toromont Divisions and companies where it makes sense.
  • Identify foundational capabilities required to support digital portfolio evolution.
  • Ensure eCommerce platforms are embedded into the overall digital portfolio strategy, roadmap, and investment planning.
  • Establish annual goals and objectives for Digital Solutions team members.
  • Coach Digital Product Managers and IT developers on design best practices (UX, data management, workflow, security).
  • Monitor digital solution design processes and make adjustments as required to optimize effectiveness and alignment with IT standards and procedures.
  • Coordinate activities (meetings, calls, design sessions, etc.) with all related parties (IT, Marketing, LOBs) to advance project deliverables to meet specified target dates.
  • Ensure team capabilities and priorities support eCommerce platform adoption, optimization, and growth objectives.
  • Monitor eCommerce Solutions performance and integrity.

Must-haves for this role:

  • Bachelors, Masters or Tech Program degree in IT, Marketing or general business.
  • 10+ years of related experience in systems design and development.
  • Experience with B2B and/or B2C eCommerce platforms, including marketplace and procurement-enabled solutions.
  • Strong understanding of digital commerce performance metrics, customer journeys, and adoption lifecycle management.
  • Proven ability to drive cross-functional alignment between Product, Marketing, Sales, IT, and external partners.
  • Experience delivering in broadly-adopted technology solutions in a fast-paced, unstructured environment.
  • Business process design and user workflow mapping.
  • Basic understanding of data modelling and messaging techniques.
  • Experience working with Caterpillar eCommerce and digital platforms, including parts.cat.com, Cat Integrated Procurement, TEquip Used Marketplace, and shop.cat.com (preferred).
  • Foundational understanding of core data elements driving customer/Dealership/Caterpillar interactions – Customer, Equipment, Contact, Work Order, CVA, etc.
  • In-depth knowledge of technology integration solutions and architectures including APIs, CXML, SSO and Azure/AD.
  • Working knowledge of Digital solutions design best-practices, including path-to-value, web/mobile architectures, screen layout designs, embedded messaging, banners, performance optimization, error handling and notifications.
  • Ability to lead small, dynamic teams toward specific deliverable and financial targets.
  • Strong inclination to roll-up sleeves and to get things done.
  • Strong communicator in both English and French.
