The Manager – Product Identity will be responsible for managing and executing the delivery of Bayobab’s Identity product under the Wholesale Mobility business. The role focuses on building and operationalizing the Identity Hub, enabling identity authentication services under the TS.43 standard and network identity APIs, ensuring readiness for integration across MTN Opcos and external partners. The position requires hands-on management of product requirements, development cycles, go-to-market activities, pricing coordination, and post-launch performance tracking. The Product Manager will work closely with Planning, Commercial, Sales, and Technology teams to ensure timely execution of deliverables and effective rollout of identity products and services.
Key Performance Areas:
Core, essential responsibilities / outputs of the position (KPA's)
Product Management and Development
• Manage the day-to-day delivery of the Identity Hub and related API products from inception to post-launch.
• Develop and maintain detailed product requirements, feature specifications, and product documentation.
• Coordinate with Planning and Technology teams to build timelines, testing, and platform readiness.
• Support integration efforts with MTN Opcos and external partners by providing functional requirements and validation support.
• Prepare Business Cases, Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), and Marketing Requirement Specifications (MRS) in collaboration with supporting teams.
• Conduct functional and commercial readiness checks before launch, including validation of billing, reporting, and customer onboarding flows.
• Manage continuous improvement of launched services based on feedback, adoption, and performance metrics.
• Maintain product catalogues, feature lists, and fact sheets for internal and customer-facing use.
Commercial and Sales Support
• Collaborate with Commercial and Sales teams to define pricing, offers, and promotional bundles for identity services.
• Provide subject matter expertise during customer engagements, proposals, and onboarding discussions.
• Support preparation of sales collaterals, FAQs, presentations, and training material for internal stakeholders.
• Monitor customer adoption, usage trends, and revenue performance; initiate corrective actions where needed.
• Coordinate with Operations and Finance to ensure smooth Lead-to-Cash processes and accurate service billing.
Execution and Operations
• Track project timelines, dependencies, and risks; ensure timely closure of tasks and deliverables.
• Manage product lifecycle from introduction through growth and maintenance phases.
• Coordinate with Technology and Operations teams for service assurance, issue resolution, and performance improvements.
• Maintain close alignment with internal governance processes, including product gating, documentation, and reporting requirements.
• Support internal committees and working groups with updates, reports, and data to enable decision-making.
• Conduct periodic performance reviews for existing products, identifying gaps and opportunities for feature optimization.
Role Deliverables
• Operational launch of the Identity Hub and associated network APIs.
• Completion of business and product documentation for new identity products.
• Enablement of integration and onboarding for MTN Opcos and selected external partners.
• Development of sales enablement materials and product training sessions.
• Regular reporting on adoption, performance, and revenue contribution of identity products.
• Execution of improvement actions based on customer feedback and operational results.
