Job Description

We are looking for a Manager, Product Development to celebrate The Peninsula brand heritage. Reporting to the Director of Product and Innovation, you will lead product portfolio strategy generation, with a focus on unique and ‘ownable’ product concept development across a variety of product categories. You will lead and support on a variety of initiatives to drive profitable business growth of The Peninsula Boutique across various markets and channels. Key Accountabilities

  • Manage all aspect of product innovation/ renovation under assigned categories/ channel/ region to meet business objectives of the company – involving product development, sourcing, tasting line-up, volume forecast consolidation, profitability assessment, timeline, purchase order, documentation and approval, etc. along with both internal and external stakeholders across markets to ensure brand standard are well delivered
  • Work to define the appropriate product ranges and tiers by sales channel, responding to market feedback as necessary
  • Contribute to the go-to market strategy for each launch, ensuring strategic alignment across key functions
  • Work closely with Buying, Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain and Quality Assurance to support commercialization of new product innovations
  • Ensure product delivery to meet company’s quality requirements by providing support to obtain necessary validations to attain internal approval, involving customer validation, market specificities, and are in legal compliance across targeted markets/ channel
  • Conduct market research for assigned product categories/ channel/ region to identify new product potentials
  • Assist in vendor sourcing and ensure compliance with group’s procurement policy throughout the processes
  • Track product performance with learning and implication to drive continuous improvement
  • Coordinate product information and maintain global product database for sharing with all internal stakeholders

Requirements

  • Appreciate The Peninsula brand heritage, passionate about food and innovation
  • Deep knowledge in Asian taste, festival and high-end gifting culture will be an advantage
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
  • Degree holder in any discipline
  • Experience in luxury sector including retail, premium food & beverage and fast-moving consumable goods will be an advantage
  • Creative, curious and always on top of latest trends
  • Skilled at stakeholder management at all levels
  • Good team player and willing to work under pressure to meet the goals
  • Agile, tenacious and flexible- able to respond to the ever-changing market landscape
  • Self-motivated, organized, detailed minded
  • Strong time management skill with ability to efficiently prioritize based on business needs
  • Strong command in both written and oral English. Proficiency in Chinese is a plus
  • Proficient in PC applications
