The Manager of Product Development plays an important role in the organization by performing several activities related to the company’s Capital Markets functions. The role is responsible, under moderate supervision, for ensuring that all new and existing loan programs are managed to production with accuracy, timeliness, and compliance. The role is also responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of loan products, from ideation to market launch and ongoing maintenance. Key duties include managing the product roadmap, creating product documentation, training internal staff, being the product expert and staying up to date on market trends and investor guidelines.

Compensation

This role is an exempt position with a Targeted Salary Range of $93,000 - $140,000 annually.

Compensation at Guild is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to local and federal minimum wage requirements, education, level of experience, and applicant’s geographical location.

Essential Functions

  • Maintains familiarity with compliance requirements, sales and operations practices, and secondary market dynamics.
  • Applies project management expertise to oversee all phases of the development process.
  • Manages the delivery and release of new product initiatives while updating existing offerings.
  • Sustains an in-depth working knowledge of company products and operational processes.
  • Prepares detailed project plans, defines scope, gathers business requirements, engages stakeholders, and manages each phase according to the Project Lifecycle Process for projects of varying size.
  • Ensures delivery of assigned projects within established timelines, meeting the critical needs of business units or external customers.
  • Develops innovative products aligned with organizational objectives and customer demands—collaborating closely with sales, marketing, technology, and compliance departments to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Support product development in creating and maintaining pricing and eligibility tools.
  • Retains ownership and accountability for maintaining the project schedule, coordinating efforts with the Project Manager and Director of Product Development.
  • Works collaboratively with the Product Execution Team (PET) to assess cross-departmental programming requirements across multiple platforms.
  • Works closely with internal product team – including guidelines, product training, product marketing teams – to ensure effective sharing of product knowledge.
  • Other projects or tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor'sDegreedirectly related to the position or equivalent, required.

  • Minimum five years total experience in mortgage related role(s).
  • Minimum three years' experience in direct project management experience.
  • Minimum one year supervisory or leadership experience which reflect three years direct project management experience.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of residential mortgage loan products, including agency, non-agency, government and non-QM loans.
  • Understand the complexity of mortgage industry and various departments (Compliance, Operations, Sales, etc.)
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Outstanding organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Possesses proven experience in product development spanning the full lifecycle from initial concept through implementation.
  • Exhibits outstanding collaboration and communication abilities to effectively partner with diverse teams.
  • Intermediate math skills required.
  • Intermediate MS Excel analysis skills.
  • Ethical, with a commitment to company values.
  • Moderate to intermittent supervision required, depending on experience.

Supervision

Requirements

Physical: Work is primarily sedentary; mobility in an office setting.

Manual Dexterity: Ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Frequent use of computer keyboard and mouse.

Audio/Visual: Regularly required to accurately perceive, distinguish and interpret information received visually and through audio, e.g., words, numbers and other data broadcasted aloud/viewed on a screen, as well as print and other media.

Environmental: Office environment – moderate noise, no substantial exposure to adverse environmental conditions.

Travel: 5-10%

Mental: This role requires effective adaptation to workplace stressors, including customer service complaints, security responsibilities, and competing priorities. Must be able to adhere to process protocol. Must be able to apply established protocols in a timely manner.

Schedules: Work is primarily performed during the business week, Monday - Friday.
