Product Lead – Procurement Systems and Processes

About the business, role and team

You will join the Finance Department, which supports the Bank’s purpose by providing financial stewardship, insight and operational services. Within Finance, the Procurement function partners with leaders across the Bank to deliver value for money, manage risk and ensure compliance with the Commonwealth Procurement Rules.

This role sits within the Procurement team and reports to the Head of Procurement. You will work closely with Procurement Category Managers, Procurement Operations, and Technology teams, as well as business stakeholders across the Bank. The team is responsible for sourcing, supplier and contract management, and the systems that underpin these activities.

About the role

As Product Lead, you will be the voice of the customer and take ownership of procurement systems and business functionality delivered through change initiatives. You will lead the development and continuous improvement of the Bank’s procurement systems ecosystem, including the Contract Management System and integrations with ServiceNow, TRIM, Microsoft 365 and DocuSign.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Own and manage the product roadmap and backlog for procurement systems, ensuring delivery aligns with priorities, funding and timelines
  • Lead delivery by guiding teams on priorities, features and business requirements
  • Represent business needs and translate procurement processes into system solutions that deliver value and maintain compliance
  • Oversee system integrations across the procurement ecosystem to ensure seamless, reliable and efficient workflows
  • Drive continuous improvement in procurement processes, systems and user experience
  • Ensure system changes, enhancements and upgrades meet business requirements and quality standards
  • Build a strong culture of knowledge sharing across systems, processes and integrations
  • Engage and influence stakeholders across Finance, Technology and the broader Bank to align outcomes

About you

  • Strong experience leading complex system or product initiatives, ideally within procurement, finance or regulated environments
  • Demonstrated knowledge of procurement processes, systems and controls, including sourcing, contracting and supplier management
  • Experience with Contract Management Systems, ServiceNow, TRIM, Microsoft 365 and DocuSign is highly regarded
  • Proven experience working in Agile environments, including backlog management
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to lead without direct authority
  • Ability to identify process improvement opportunities and deliver practical, system-enabled solutions
  • Solid understanding of system integration and data flows across enterprise environments
