The Manager, Pricing is responsible for developing and executing pricing strategies in alignment with Rheem’s business initiatives, pricing offers in the Market and Product mix to maximize variable margin across a product line, asset base, and customer and business segment. This position develops pricing analytics to measure effectiveness of pricing strategies and the impact of materials and other cost changes on the profitability of product lines. Coordinates contract development, drafting and compliance programs around pricing and other commercial offering elements. Monitors customer buying patterns, competitive behaviors, market dynamics and recommends adjusting offers as necessary, while managing a small team of professionals.

This position will serve our 2J Supply Division, located in Dayton, OH

  • Make recommendations for standard market pricing, based on competitive analysis and product advantages.

  • Lead projects to identify, evaluate, recommend, and execute margin improvement plans based on review of price, volume, share and mix trends by customer or business segment.

  • Analyze price gain by customer, region, product category, etc. versus planned levels.

  • Measure post-mortem performance of distributor and large dealer price repositioning moves, with performance improvement recommendations.

  • Develop and enhance metrics and ‘dashboard’ reports (pricing/profitability as well as process metrics).

  • Provide direction to team members responsible for implementing exception pricing agreements (e.g., SPRs, gain-share programs, etc.).

  • Lead evaluation of proposed customer rebate programs and the impact on profitability.

  • Monitor pricing programs to ensure proper and controlled use of exception pricing agreements.

  • Participate in Pricing systems improvement projects, working cross-functionally and across divisions to ensure all requirements are satisfied.

  • Present recommendations on pricing and profit optimization topics to senior management.

  • Conceive, define and lead pricing process improvement initiatives.

  • Develop and implement new/innovative pricing structures to optimize profitability, field pricing flexibility, and pricing controls.

  • Participate in cross-functional initiatives and cross-divisional initiatives focused on pricing and profit optimization.

  • Mentor/Coach other members of the Pricing department

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Finance, or Engineering
  • 7+ years of work experience in Finance, Marketing, Customer Service, Purchasing, Sales, but most preferably in Pricing/Revenue Management
  • Knowledge of business-to-business pricing principles and techniques
  • General understanding of accounting principles
  • Experience with Oracle BI Answers, SQL, MS Access, and Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) a plus
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Proficient computer skills and in-depth knowledge of relevant software such as MS Office Suite. Advanced knowledge of Excel required.

  • Demonstrated ability to work well with others in a matrix team environment.

  • Demonstrated experience solving complex business problems

HOW TO STAND OUT:

  • Manufacturing and/or two-step distribution industry experience preferred
