Manager, Pre-Construction and Tenders

Location: Austin, Texas; Denver, Colorado; or San Francisco, California

Work model: Hybrid, Tuesday through Thursday in the office

Salary: $130,000 to $150,000 annually, plus a 15% annual bonus

Travel: Up to 30%

What you’ll do

As Manager, Pre-Construction and Tenders, you will support the sourcing, evaluation, negotiation and award of Engineering, Procurement and Construction contracts for utility-scale renewable energy projects. You may also support Operations and Maintenance service contracts.

Working within our EPC team, you will collaborate closely with Project Management, Engineering, Development, Safety and other key stakeholders. You will bring strong commercial judgment, attention to detail and the ability to manage complex tendering activities against critical project timelines.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing, issuing and managing RFP packages for EPC services and, when required, O&M services
• Reviewing, normalizing and comparing bids to support clear, well-informed award recommendations
• Interviewing and evaluating bidders in partnership with project stakeholders
• Completing supplier due diligence through company prequalification procedures
• Developing productive relationships with key EPC vendors, including coordinating regular meetings at industry conferences and other settings
• Supporting the negotiation and execution of Limited Notice to Proceed agreements, EPC agreements and other consulting or service contracts, including required exhibits
• Helping ensure contracts meet the project’s technical and commercial requirements
• Building effective partnerships with internal stakeholders across Development, Project Management, Engineering, Safety and other functions
• Supporting strategic priorities while remaining comfortable managing detailed, tactical activities when needed

Who we’re looking for

You are a collaborative and commercially minded professional who can evaluate complex information, build consensus and deliver accurate work within demanding timelines. You understand the developer’s perspective and can balance project goals, supplier relationships, risk and commercial requirements.

You will bring:

• A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Construction Management, Business Management or a related field
• Experience supporting the negotiation of EPC contracts
• Experience managing RFPs, evaluating bids and developing award recommendations
• Experience working within multidisciplinary and cross-functional teams
• Strong analytical, organizational and contract review skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build consensus among multiple stakeholders
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
• Business-fluent proficiency in English
• The ability to travel up to 30%

Experience within utility-scale renewable energy and familiarity with SAP are preferred.
