Job Description

Ensure high quality post-production processes for the docu-series Osiyo, Voices of the Cherokee People and other documentary and video content. Manage a team of post-production professionals ensuring high production values are maintained. Oversee multiple high profile and wide-reaching projects. Responsible for post-production schedules, video servers and archives, video assembly, and lead management of video/content assemblies.

  • Manages, develops, and supports post-production staff and team of editors from start of production through delivery.

  • Manages and determines post-production schedule and milestone deadlines including animation and other outside services.

  • Accountable for post-production quality control to ensure high production values.

  • Assembles all OsiyoTV episodes with assistance from editors.

  • Oversees and delegates organization of servers, archives and multiple media files.

  • Provides primary oversight and delegates management of comprehensive music library, stock footage contracts/library, and photo library.

  • Oversees and determines all processes and workflows regarding production credits, license tracking, and other post-production documents.

  • Delegates and ensures show delivery to multiple platforms, such as streaming platforms and multiple regional television stations.

  • Provides selection and oversight of future streaming/distribution contract deliverables.

  • Vendor management and oversight of post-production editing software subscriptions and implementation; Ensures quality of post-production editing software.

  • Manages editors and workflow as it pertains to raw footage organization, ingestion and storage needs.

  • Supervise/manage a department and have authority over hiring/firing/performance decisions.

  • Work is primarily performed indoors, in a climate-controlled office setting, however, some work may be performed outdoors in all types of weather or in a climate-controlled studio.

  • Work may require extended periods of sitting, walking or standing.

  • Work requires lifting and carrying objects up to 25 lbs.

  • Work may require travel, including overnight stays.

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor’s degree in video production, communications, film, or other related field and four (4) to six (6) years of experience in leading a post-production team and editing or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Experience with cinema cameras is preferred.

  • Advanced knowledge of the entire video production and editing process with advanced editing skills.

  • Advanced Knowledge in Mac OS systems, Adobe Premiere editing software and Adobe Creative Cloud (Premiere, Media Encoder, Photoshop, After Effects).

  • Ability to install and update media relevant software.

  • Ability to work within and on a budget with Production Admin staff.

  • Working knowledge of digital archiving and server storage needs.

  • Ability to pay close attention to detail, have a reliable work ethic and a professional appearance.

  • Excellent communication skills to ensure effective workflow and customer service.

  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to work independently on multiple projects, establishing and meeting strict deadlines.

  • Working knowledge of tribal divisions and programs preferred.

  • Ability to work under pressure.

  • Ability to maintain the highest level of professionalism while directly dealing with all levels of staff, clients and the general public.

  • Knowledge of multimedia video production gear, function and assembly and software programs.

  • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
