Minimum qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 13 years of experience in data analytics, cybersecurity, program management, business strategy, technology research, anti-abuse, policy or a related field.
• 5 years of experience in people management, leading teams, and hiring, mentoring and retaining talent across global locations.

Preferred qualifications

• Master's or PhD in a relevant field.
• Proficiency in stakeholder management and executive influence, with experience persuading senior leaders, building trusted relationships, bridging divergent interests, exercising sound judgement under pressure, and translating complex issues into simple, clear language.
• Advanced AI fluency, understanding core AI concepts and leading teams that design innovative, AI-native products and workflows to inform strategic decisions.
• Understanding of key policy issues affecting the internet like intellectual property, misinformation, privacy, free expression, and online safety, demonstrating capabilities for redefining Google's overall approach toward addressing their complexities

Trust & Safety team members are tasked with identifying and taking on the biggest problems that challenge the safety and integrity of our products. They use technical know-how, excellent problem-solving skills, user insights, and proactive communication to protect users and our partners from abuse across Google products like Search, Maps, Gmail, and Google Ads. In this role, you will manage broad, ecosystem-level abuse-fighting problems to create trusted experiences for our customers and users, designing strategies and solutions by working across organizational boundaries and utilizing business judgement, AI foresight, and technical, legal, business, and policy expertise. You will act as a thought leader, overseeing end-to-end delivery of multi-variable initiatives that rebuild the foundations of policy lifecycle management, and ensure policy intent is translated in execution and clearly explained to the internal and external audiences. You will drive operational excellence across policy launches, consults and communications, designing and optimizing scalable, efficient business processes and systems aimed at reducing friction in the customer experience and catalyzing next-generation global harm mitigation. You Strengthen global partnerships with product, engineering, policy, public affairs and sales leaders, integrating conflicting viewpoints, ensuring alignment on high-stakes Objectives and Key Results (OKRs), and simplifying extreme complexity for the audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead a global team of Policy Implementation and Communications specialists, defining, aligning and tracking progress on team strategy and OKRs.
• Architect and deliver scalable, next-generation Trust and Safety strategies for Ads and Shopping policy implementation and communications across multiple business areas, including high-risk user harm, scams, elections, personalized ads, business growth enablement, customer experience and regulatory compliance.
• Lead strategic cross-functional initiatives by advancing key relationships with senior stakeholders across Product, Engineering, Go-to-Market, Customer Support, Legal, PR and Public Policy to shape policy road maps, roll out policy updates, and manage large-scale programs, exercising influence without direct authority.
